Negative can be solder to the body of the battery too. I saw few Indian tutorials in you tube.

Whatever i do, the solder never hold on the battery surface, i tried scratch it, and also use of detergent acid on it,, but the solder never hold. It always break.

I'm using a cheap soldering iron with temp knob. All of the soldering tips that comes with it were metal. I always crank it up to max (450C) which still works but soldering wire won't stick to the tip. Thanks to this video I am now able to fix my soldering tips. The key is SET THE TEMP TO 300-350 CELSIUS when re-tinning. Oh god, after 5 years of being dumb!

i just made solderflux from pine sap that i harvested yesterday and dissolved in isopropanol overnight,it works just fine it is way darker than the flux you made here. the paste you "made" is fake,solder paste made of rosin (pine sap) and alcohol only will be darker but clear not cloudy like the one in this video.

I also built one similar to this, but uses only one 18650 battery. It is super compact and is really really simple. No boost converter or circuitry needed. The trick is to make sure the heating element recieves all the current it needs, so all contact points (wires, switches) can do at least 2amps. I used stainless metal zipties and cut them into strips and used them as my conductor and as a momentary switch, wide contact is very important. It made the entire assembly need very few parts and still be effective. In that one you built, the springs in the battery holder limits the current, as a result, you needed the boost converter to suplement the low current draw.

I’m new to soldering and am impressed with the “works of art” you’re creating. I can't seem to duplicate your results with individual LEDs, resistors… My soldering iron won't hold enough solder. Do you do anything special to Spot Solder? Type solder, temperature or flux?

Totally works. I used the charging port of a vape (electronic cigarrette), connected it to a 3.7v battery, added a switch then a piece of nichrome wire from a heater. When turned on, it glows red hot and I use this to draw on wood and leather(By burning it). It can be easily modded into a soldering iron.

I turned a vape into little flashlights before, and I turned a vape into a coffee, milk, frother My aunts frother broke so I took the little spinning piece off and took a little DC motor, fit it inside the vape added a button and you hold it down into the milk. It spins and makes the milk frothy, and it was from her favorite type of Vape that she discovered while visiting me in Miami so now when she went back home, she has a souvenir vape that recharges and froths her milk for her cappuccinos 😂 Now I did have to find a pen for writing with in order to get the little metal piece off the tip where the tip comes out and mounted it to the vape mouthpiece so that it holds the little spinning piece in place properly. A lot of little fabrication, but it was really fun. What I have here now given to me is a $200 hair volumizer that heats up to 450°. And two heating hairbrushs.. Now I am wondering how I’m going to fabricate them into a soldering iron or something else. 😈🤣 The ladies in my life know that I love these things and they offer me their devices when they don’t want them anymore . I can’t be trusted with these things.😁
