Hi, I already have this X5 but am thinking of upgrading to an iX M60, which is so much faster, what do you all think about changing to all electric battery powered?

Do NOT order a pad from Xymox. We're still waiting for our son's pads for his 16th birthday. He is now 21.

Do NOT buy a Xymox pad. We have ordered 2 pads since 2020 and have not received either of them. We have called them, and emailed them, several times and they will not respond. We are still waiting on my son's 16th birthday present (he is now 21).

Another question for you. I see you got the Sensafin seats. I've test driven a few of these and I'm kind of leaning towards Sensafin because, believe it or not, they feel softer and better than leather. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for the great review! As the original owner of a 2021 X5 with the 3.0L, which I love, I decided to upgrade to the M60i to get a one of two more options and upgraded power that I didn't get on the '21. As you mentioned, I am not real happy with the loss of the control knobs and buttons, or the classic "cave" over the speedo. I can tell you that the voice control works very well on both models when you're driving alone but if there is any conversation going on before "she" stops listening and executes the command, "she" gets confused. Also I turned off the gesture control because if you are even slightly animated in conversation it will react to the movements. The dash graphics are much improved and I can see there is going to be a learning curve. My '21 has the "M" blackout package but new one has a more aggressive looking front end. Over all this SAV is awesome and I am looking forward to receiving the new one!

also moved from an X3 M40 to the X5 M60i about 6 months ago. 12000miles later I’m still loving the car. Like you said a big step up from the X3 in terms of fit, finish and quality and a much more mature drive. I do miss the engine note and dynamic handling of the X3, that is more an indication of just how good the X3 was and not that the X5 is lacking (its still miles ahead of the competition). Fuel consumption is averaging 17mpg, but it can go a low as 13 or as high as 26 depending on the road and your right foot. Even so I’m impressed, I was barely getting 18mpg in the X3. I have gone up against M4’s and M5’s and in real world conditions this is every bit as fast as those machines in a straight line and in the bends. On a track they obliterate me. I’m on 22’s and the ride is still very good, better than the X3 on 19’s. I only have 3 real complaints: engine sounds is lacking, airflow through the centre vents aren’t great and too many functions are in idrive 8.5. Gimme back some button! Your review is on point and a very accurate description of what it is like to live with this car. I love that it is a comfortable commuter but a little push on the throttle wakes up the beast under the bonnet.

Buy the pad in the music store-No waiting, no problems….

A small pair of needle nose pliers allow you to push "c" clip of with one hand while using the other hand to block the escape route for said clip. Dab a small amount of gun grease on groove in pivot rod and the clip will start in position so you can use a flat ended screwdriver to push clip back into groove.

I never played marching percussion before. I’m just a guy who loves drums and percussion in general!!!! Drum set, world, marching, concert, or orchestral, it makes no difference to me!!!! I play drum kit and world percussion!!!!! It’s not that I didn’t want to play percussion in band when I was in middle school, but they said it wasn’t an option for me due to my autism!!!!! So I like to watch all forms of percussion as much as I can!!!!!!!!!

Nice video. I have a 2013 X5 and seriously considering the 2025 M60.... however I was thinking to maybe wait for the 2026 model in hopes to see more fun body changes.

I just ordered this light for ten bucks. Mainly for the spare battery it comes with but it’ll be nice having a tiny AA light that’s bright too.

In reference to the temperature controls can you not use your voice to set temp and fan speed?

Really good and honest overview. I would add; as an audio producer/engineer, I had a previous car that I upgraded to the Bowers & Wilkins. I personally did not like it at all. It's too clean, like a sterile studio monitor sound. And there was very poor bass response at low volumes (which is important with other people in the car). I went back to the Harmon Kardon in my next model (535i) and love it. The Harmon Kardon has just the right amount of color and warmth, and has a much preferred bass response at lower volumes. I have this 2025 X5 M60i on order and waiting now, so this was good to watch. I too went with the 20" wheels for winter and rougher roads and good to hear it handles well. 100% I too hate the lack of buttons for HVAC especially. I know it’s cheaper from BMW, I know it looks cooler, but the car is not a phone. I need to bb able to make reasonable adjustments when I’m driving without taking my eyes off the road. Another example. I reverse out of my garage, and so the whole screen is taken up with the camera views. That sounds great, but while the sensors are on you can do nothing else with the screen. I get the safety angle, but at the same time they say not to reply on the cameras. So why can’t I do something simple, like change HVAC. It’s dumb. Overall, I hate the touch interface. The mass of icons all look the same and I can find nothing. Hey BMW does not understand my accent, and it’s just so…..clunky. Give me buttons. Oh and it’s hilariously unreliable. It crashed CarPlay all the time (which can only be fixed by a iDrive reboot) and the eSIM basically does not work. Car drives beautifully. Amazing. IDrive 8.5 (and 9 in my wife’s car) are…….terrible.
