You can take the clip out on the i3t 2 but you can't screw it all the way back where the clip ring was, so what I did is I put another o-ring to cover that gap! I use the clip rarely on the shirt collar or the pocket to just have a source of light beaming down and not directly where I look when I just want to walk! Honestly if they didn't have a way to start low first, I wouldn't have bothered with the v2, most of the time I need low first!. Especially for a small light at night you don't want do blind yourself! The low on v2 is actually noticeably lower which I like but it also feels like the tint is a bit twords green-ish compared with the first i3t, so I'm not sure if they use the same led, or it's because the upgraded circuits, it's rare for olight to specify the leds used... And I have those 350mah batteries, they are pretty ok, but I tend to use ni-mh batteries if that means it will have a lower low for more runtime. So it's weird that I like to use 10440 3.7v in the i3t and ni-mh 1.2v in the i3t 2!

I agree, definitely good at the end of the ability to swap the low and high first

Thanks for the battery info. I started out with the I3T as an supplementary weapon light but graduated to dedicated weapon lights. These days I use the Perun for a flood light and recently got a Seeker 4 for use as a search light with flood. I still have my mini pocket clip light for use if I go into town but I'm liking my android phone which has a shake function that cycles the camera light on and off. I still have my 40+ year old Maglite 5D cell flashlight that i purchased back in the early eighties that has good throw and doubles as a club. I've overhauled it once already with readily available Maglite parts. These days i keep it around just in case but I rely on my small army of Olights nowadays.

Wow, old school with the maglite!

I dont see the benefit here. The low with the 10440 is the same and 300 lumen vs 200 with AA also isnt significant at all. So I think the new i3T is pointless for 10440 usage. For an edc I dont need a high of 180-300 lumen. It would have made much more sense if they would give an additional high about 80 lumen that can be chosen with this 5 or 9 time tap programming.

If you're at Gold level or above as an Olight member then there is a black zirconium i3T 2! Limited edition and it's set at 2 per customer. Just ordered one up myself along with some 3.7v batteries to throw in it when it arrives!

I have both the i3t and the i3t2. I kinda like the "blooming" when turning on the higher lumen mode.
@SnareMan3 ай бұрын
small of a thing as it is I like the instant gratification of the instant on. The blooming is pretty though.

My Version 1 is shipped with less of a bend in the clip at the buttoncap. Went with V1 due to better price (sale). For now I prefer normal AAA batts instead of rechargeable. So the different linens weren’t a deal maker/breaker.

Do you have a link for that battery? And if it is protected, im new to this. I can find one that is no longer than 44 mm to work . Thanks!!

Can these flash lights use a normal deracell better or just a store battery from like Walmart? And also do these have good throw at night? Thanks
@SnareMan4 ай бұрын
Yes, you can use any of the correct batteries and its a decent throw for the size of the light.

I wish more companies let you choose basic brightness order. Usually I want the lowest setting so I don't blind myself when I've just woken up in the middle of the night. It's also a matter of safety for medical professionals who need to check pupils. However if you plan to use your light for inspections or walking out to your car etc, it's preferable to have a brighter setting as soon as you turn your light on. That new fade on feature seems good for those of us with light sensitive eyes. Curious to see if that's the case.

Yes I agree a choice would be nice. Usually I want the lower output first as well

I love these lights. But man I wish they would ditch that two-way pocket clip. A solution in search of a problem. I’m pretty sure only psychopaths carry tip up anyway 🙄
@SnareMan11 ай бұрын
I can't disagree.
@Storm0187911 ай бұрын
The two-way clip is useful for clipping the light to the brim of a cap. I use it that way quite frequently for hands-free illumination. Handy when taking out the trash after dark.
@SnareMan11 ай бұрын
@@Storm01879 With all of the Olights I own I've used the reverse side of the clip zero times. Not saying it can't be useful, I just question how often people in general use it for the fact that its there.
