In the KJ off suit hand you are getting 6 to 1 odds to just call the river. No reason to turn top pair into a bluff. If he's betting for value he is probably going to call your all in, and if he's bluffing your top pair is already good. Bad play shoving in my opinion.

A few have said that and it’s fair but we need to have some bluffs in our range here. Any other combos that call flop and turn and want to bluff jam? Remember we want a spade in our hand to bluff jam. He can use this small bet on a flush completing river with AA, KK, QQ and AJ that now have to fold when I shove.

I feel like that qto xback on jj38t is, in a live setting, quite a massive mistake. I know that it's easy to see ghost everywhere when you lose every hand, but thin valuebets are your main source of winrate in live poker, since everyone hates to fold. Im betting this for a big size every time and getting called by any pair - if they can "put you on ace king", they will

Some run bad in that AQdd hand. Neither player is going to have flopped many flushes in a 4 bet pot, would have expected at least a small c bet out of him. But he wouldn't even pay off 1/4 pot. Very unlucky.

It was shocking play. He had showdown value with KJ and he's only getting called by worse hands in that spot. You can also rule out overpairs based on how he played the hand. I was literally screaming when he shoved lmao.

Multiway should be played with caution. B33 on the flop is fine. Small bet on turn to keep draws/bluffs in. Then blocker bet on river. I have no problem with Gary’s play. He has Ks. The shove would have folded everything except strong flush

@@Fatpigkenny I’m not sure how you’re disregarding the possibility of him having a flush there. You’ve got showdown value with top pair, shoving just means you’re putting yourself in a position to only being called by a better hand. If he didn’t have the top pair I’d maybe understand it. Long term you’ll lose money playing like that and I assume tilt was the reason for him doing so.

@@garyblackwoodpoker I politely disagree. I think it’s a safe assumption that these 2 guys knew each other. What did the guy who called the raise have? He bet $300, then called a raise and mucked without showing after the main draw got there. It’s not for sure, but you can’t rule out collusion there. The guy who raised figured you would now muck and he can check it down with a hand unlikely to improve. That hand stopped the positive momentum that was building during this session. If the guy who mucked at the end would have checked the flop, you would have called the guy with AK with the ace of hearts, and won a big hand from him when you would have hit the flush on the turn.

We can extract value against a lot of hands on this flop, AK or AA that has decided to check, JJ with a diamond, the list goes on. I think we will have to agree to disagree but I just don’t see why we want to check always with the nuts. Maybe on 742ddd when he has no top pairs but lots of AK here
