AK value bet vs A8 is sick play
@garyblackwoodpokerАй бұрын
As I was betting the voice in my head was like "lord in heaven please let this not blow up in my face!"
@Antzzz_ManzzzАй бұрын
@@garyblackwoodpoker thought process to that hand was excellent. You know he was sticky player and he knows you’re loose bluffer. Board texture and player dependent makes that AK value bet is highly skillful play. As your game improve in due time, you’re going to a tougher player by knowing when to bluff n when not to. I see your biggest leak is too loose and too much bluffing in spot where it’s -ev. I like your game very much.
@stevencolon35403 күн бұрын
Just curious on the 10s full hand would it be better to raise the turn to get value, since the hand shuts down if the flush hits? Or are you hoping villain has a flush draw and hits?
@garyblackwoodpoker2 күн бұрын
Yep raising is probably better!

Hi Gary when playing for US Dollars do you ever find yourself thinking what's that in Pounds? Or do you always just think in Big Blinds or is it just a number compared to your chip stack?

the TT hand against KQ at 15:30, I'm a PLO player so I would almost never not bluff that hand, does double blocking the nuts not rly matter enough in holdem to make a huge bluff esp on the river?
@garyblackwoodpokerАй бұрын
Well when the turn goes x/x neither player ever has the nuts, so I don't think blocking the nuts is suuuuuper relevant here. Plus I doubt he likes to fold, I decided to be a bit of a nit and just give it up.

Very curious why you would snap check back pocket 9’s on the 8 7 2 7 8 board. Aren’t you likely to get called down light during the stand-up game?
@garyblackwoodpokerАй бұрын
A valid question but his 33/44/55/66 aren't going to call now and I don't envisage too much A high in his range when he calls the turn. Just feels a bit too thin imo.
@uniquelolapps7318Ай бұрын
Great vlogs Gary, the variance is just not on your side. Do you think that the LA games have bigger standard deviation because they are more multiway and the players are stickier? Maybe 200bb/100 standard deviation? Also any tips for dealing with downswings?
@garyblackwoodpokerАй бұрын
I think it’s just the size of the games I’ve played so far tbh. Episode 1 I lost 90bb at 10/20/40 and here I lost 120bb at 25/50. I won 200bbs at 5/10 so in terms of bbs I’m about even but obviously down a decent amount of $ so far. I think my std dev is actually lower here overall, just bigger games making it seem otherwise so far. Time will tell! ❤
@garyblackwoodpokerАй бұрын
Regarding downswings, the best players are the ones who are affected the least. Do your best to make sure you’re playing as well as you can and minimise losses. Hold on to the fact you are +EV and get through it as best you can!
@uniquelolapps7318Ай бұрын
@@garyblackwoodpoker i was just trying to understand better the win rates and the standard deviation. While online the win rate is solid with 4bb/100 and std dev 100, live soft games can have 20+bb/100 but the std dev can be around 150bb due to the multiway pots and low folding equity. The standard deviation can make it very swingy even in live soft games. Currently in 100hrs downswing in soft live games. Thank you so much for your advices. Much appreciated and wish you the best of luck.

Raise that turn with TT. Playing no raises implies a balanced strategy which doesn’t make any sense vs live guys.

Gary, great video. One recommendation I have is that you tend to say what is going on before the video shows it. Since people can process visual information much faster than listening to you, I would prefer that you let the video show what is going on - such as your hand or the board and then you talk about it. In this video you start telling people what you have before we get to see it. Anyway, it's small, but I think it's easy to improve the production.
