different gear ratios - probably needed different props.. jack plate differences. kinda skewed test

I sure would not want anyone to know I was dumb enough to pay what that boat cost. Stupid for a boat to catfish out of. What the hell are you thinking.

I wish you would’ve said something to acknowledge what the ticket said. Like just outright asked her for the camera or put some kind of text over the video or something to explain what he was going to do or what happened.

But those boats have no vee and are extremely rough riding in heavy chop. Been there don’t that and don’t want to kill my back anymore. Sea Ark has a very good vee and rides so much better.

Semi v and the added hull thickness and weight smooth the ride out, maybe you are thinking an older model?

I owned a .125, I hit a stump and a submerged log. They both left a little denting but I was very surprised how little damage there was. Will definitely be sticking with AL over fiberglass from here out. Currently weighing the Xpress X23 vs the Excel 230

Not really a good test. Boats have stringers and ribs that re-inforce the skin. Sea Ark has dropped their .100 gauge boats from 10' with little or no damage.
@jedwards-yr5syАй бұрын
Pretty obvious especially showing to boats stringer system. We are talking about the bay series and does sea ark have anything to compare

I guess if you arrive in the Yamaha first and get backlash on your first cast,then the extra cost of the Yamaha didn’t matter. The Suzuki just pulled up and starts fishing for less money. Jk guys.

More speed is great if you can afford thousands of dollars in extended warranties/ or repairs. If you want reliability over the long term, that is another story. If you are one if these pros that can afford to ALWAYS have a boat payment and run your motor HARD, go with the yamaha. If not, ...

The two best outboards money can buy. I've got a 2020 115 Yamaha VMax and it is absolutely a torque monster. Brother in-law just switched from a 2018 Mercury (which had already blown) to a Suzuki, and he loves it.

Can the Suzi keep up with the holeshot with a 31p??? Test again.
@jeepslivin2 жыл бұрын
So to clarify. @5600 rpm w/ 1.75 gr. Prop speed is 3200rpm @5600 rpm w/2.08 gr. Prop speed is 2692rpm With 11%slip, 5600 rpm 1.75gr 27p is 72.8 mph 2.08gr 27p is 61.3 mph 2.08gr 31p is 72.6 mph
@jeepslivin2 жыл бұрын
Ok wish i would have caught this earlier. Of course the sho is faster with equal propping. Sho has a 1.75 gear ratio and the Suzi has a 2.08. that means the prop is spinning faster by approx 15% faster at any equal rpm. The test would have been more equal if the prop pitch and size on the Suzi to equal the same speed at max rpm (factoring slip in as well) and see who gets there faster. Its simple math. prop (rpm) at a certain pitch and design at a set rpm will give an absolute speed(minus slip). The torque to turn a larger prop as quickly is where the money is.
@michaela84352 жыл бұрын
The true test would have been a Mercury Pro XS vs Yamaha SHO and we all know the Pro XS has the more torque and quicker.

I don't know which is faster or better. That being said, it looked to me that Suzuki had an extra 250-300lbs to carry with that passenger he has with him when they start the race.

They also didn’t have a jackplate on the zuki boat, don’t have the zuki propped right, and actually had gear in the boat, total bs comparison, Just trying to sell Yamaha
@MrBassOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Suzuki's are notoriously slow. It's all in the lower unit gear ratio. There is a reason you see Mercs and Yamaha's on bass boats... I have a Suzuki. It is 5 mph slower at the exact same settings as a mercury powered boat.
