Preforming a north south choke then preventing the aggressor from reaching for his firearm is madly impressive. Good stuff

I was skeptical of this De La Riva defense but I’ve been swept by DLR several times in the last couple months by one particular training partner. Every time I tried to defend with the usual defense (stuffing the leg, breaking the grip, turning my knee out, back stepping, etc…) my training partner had an answer to it. Tried this wrestling shot out today and WOW does it work!!! Appreciate you sharing this. Used it 3 times in one 5 minute roll and it worked every time. He was regripping after failed pass attempts and regaurding on me so I’ll need to work on that next part.

Great video, I've had that transition happen to me, with knee on my belly, and I couldn't get out of it. Thanks for sharing.

It seems hard to accept that every single professor has always been spot on and never premature with a belt promotion or read the player wrong. One or two of us have had to slip through the cracks and got by without actually being worthy

Yo, thanks for covering this! I've been trying to piece this together on my own but keep letting them out somehow. This will be playing on repeat for the next few weeks for sure.

It is the half guard position that happens most often, especially when you are a beginner. The opponent on top keeps trying to remove the knee. Here in Brazil, we joke about calling this move half-guard suffering. This video helped me a lot, I was looking for what to do when I fall into this position.
