This would have been served so much better by turning this into a TV series.

I will be the dessenter in the discussion. I find Lugosi tedious. I grew up in the company of Slavic and Hungarian immigrants. Just seemed like the neighbor playing the lead role. The sets are great, but not enough to be truly atmospheric. Lee would bring a disturbing element to the role, making Dracula more animal like. Lugosi's accent takes me out of the film. Imo, a monster like Dracula would have mastered English, speaking it without accent, because he had centuries to do so, Killing many along the way. Copola did it best. Dracula was a many faced chameleon who despised who he was, trying in some ways to overcome his tragedy . Nosferateau was probably the most accurate depiction of the monster called Dracula.

The 3-D was amazing in the cinema. Best I’ve experienced. Well rounded, well made all around movie. Waiting for the sequel (still).

I lost my faith in humanity when Dredd under-performed. Lack of mainstream appeal of the character? Audience 3D burnout? Low expectations due to the Stallone film? Whatever the cause, we were robbed of what could have been an awesome film franchise.

To me, the Xenia Onatop vs May Day should go to May Day. She didn't lose to Bond, she sacrificed herself. If she hadn't changed sides, he might have ultimately lost the day. Xenia takes a pounding (and enjoys it), but that's not the same as winning. As to M, I had the impression she was not a former agent but had come up by political means. Nevertheless it's clear she's had some training as a requirement of her office probably, and I think she got short shrift in your assessments.

Long-time 2000AD & Dredd fan & I loved this film, I think it's a hard one to pin down on the screen and they did a really good job here, chopping it down to a really basic plot. Also the soundtrack is amazing imo. Yeah a real shame there was no sequel, I believe there was a crowdfunding effort at one point?

Definitely in the admire camp. I'd heard so much about it, and so when I finally got to see it, I was also amazed by its visual style, but kind of let down by the story. In the world of horror, my classic that never quite worked for me is Halloween. I can recognize the craft, I can appreciate it, but when it gets down to it, I just am not a fan of slasher movies, even the good ones. I don't dislike it, but I'm probably one of the few people who prefers Prince of Darkness.

I thought this was a great film. I hadn't read any Dredd for nearly 30 years when this film came out, but now I've picked up quite a lot since. With Warhammer 40k seeing something of an increase in popularity outside of the strict wargame-nerdsphere, I think now is a better time for Dredd than 2012 was.

That kid (Rod Lauren) may have been over-acting a tad, and his James Dean was a little on the nose, but he certainly seemed talented. Unfortunately, he never really got far. His Wiki page is a sad read for more reason than one.

I'm also a big fan of the book. Bolland is best, sorry Carlos. I really liked the movie. Wasn't over the top, was very much like it should have been. Urban was perfect, Thirlby underrated. Would love to see more from this set-up. Also my wife liked it. That says a lot.

Would like a warts and all documentary about the behind the scenes stuff on both this film and Judge Dredd. This film was just okay, well cast, mostly, but it felt like they needed more budget and some more interesting set design generally. There were a few cliches and it was a mistake to quote Robocop. Worth a watch, though. Wasn't a fan of the score except for the excellent track near the end when someone slo-mo falls to their death. Bolland, Ransom, Hicklenton, Dillon, Ezquerra, McMahon, etc. all great artists.

Veidt's character in Man Who Laughs also reminded me of Ben Grimm's romance with the blind sculptress Alicia Masters from the Fantastic Four comics. She appreciates who he really is, despite his shocking appearance.

Still so much better than the Sylvester Stallone version. Karl Urban knew well you just did NOT see Dredd's face!! And the producers knew that Dredd did NOT need a comic relief partner! But then, Urban IS the same guy who played Leonard "Bones" McCoy in the JJ Abrams Star Drek movies, and ... the dichotomy is just strange. /snerk
