A good strong light helps a lot! I only check once at ten days. I've got a couple of black copper girls that drop eggs so dark that I can't see anything. If they are growing the egg will just be darker. My blue copper girls don't lay any eggs quite as dark. That'll change I'm sure. Don't know that I'll be doing any chicks this year and chasing broody hens off the nest. 60 birds is enough for me. Sheesh

My experience with Ameraucana is that it seems the more blue the egg the less hatch rate i get, I had one hen that layed bluest eggs ever but none would hatch even under a broody hen none would hatch.

I liked the video & I applaud you in your effort to eat cayenne pepper. I'm Hispanic & my family dries them out on our marble counters. Me personally though I cannot live without cayenne pepper in any of my food, I need it. The health benefits of it are also absolutely amazing. We used to have all kinds of peppers growing in our backyard but that 2021 freeze killed everything including our fruit trees, we had sweet lemon-oranges, took 14 years to grow :c but a few other peppers that are right up the same alley are the habanero and chile piquin, which means small, so small chile lol. There is no doubt that it is entirely the low temperature that is to blame. Low temperature and high humidity will cause the seeds to rot!😅

I have a maybe strange question... MY silkies like to dance! I bought some hatching eggs off of ebay. Hatched them, and now that they are grown the roosters will put their wings to the ground and skip on one foot toward me when I call them. Is this something silkies naturally do? I have never seen any of my other chickens do this. I have no experience with silkies other then the ones I have.
