This is a synth I hope to see a re-issue on. I think it would sell very well today since we have too many VCO based machines on the market right now :).

Super helpful! But, man, do I wish Sequential would have invested in small OLED Display, so that patches could be named properly and stacks / splits could more easily be identified. They could have hidden it under the Prophet 10 plaque!

I love my Pro3. Best sounding and hands on Monosynth imho. But.... Sequential has only a handful of Videos on this Beast online? Shame for such an inspiring company!

Sequential embarrass themselves with a single keybed Prophet 10. That is ridiculous. The Prophet 10 had 2 keyboards, period. Name it differently. And no LED screen in 2020+ ??? really embarrasing. It is all about money. 10 voices is not enough.

I truly appreciate how passionately you discuss this new instrument, revealing its intricate inner workings and innovative potential for artists. It's clear that this creation will profoundly impact and inspire, offering a fresh avenue for artistic expression. chargen at gm d c

Really cool using a clipped release, which is acoustically unnatural but works for this kind of rapid-attack playing so the tails don't slop over each other.

I‘ll stick to my P5. I prefer to layer *different* synths, e.g. the Prophet and an Oberheim.

Should I get a vintage prophet 5 rev 3.3 or this prophet 10 rev 4?
@deantiquisetnovis24 күн бұрын
If you are versed with a soldering iron, oscilloscopes and logic analyzer, and you have the necessary funds, then get an old synth. If you just want to play then get the Prophet 5/10 Rev 4. Or even better get a Prophet Rev 2. It is much more versatile and it has built in effects too!

@ I really love the sound of the old prophet 5 rev 3, I tried a rev 4, it doesn’t sound and feel the same so I think I ‘ll keep my rev 3

Killer synth but the pale wood looks out of place, the dark P6 looks so rich and vintage

As a 20 year Bay Area resident(from San Jose), last year I dedicated it was time I owned a Prophet 5. There’s a special feeling when I play a P5 where it was created. Best purchase of my life. RIP Dave Smith 💙

I’ve been a guitarist and music producer for the last 30 years, and I intend to buy my first synth now. Well, I do have a Korg M1 and a Korg TR61, as well as other sound modules in rack format, but I’d like to go deeper now. One question for those of you who are experienced in this field, please: why would you buy the Take 5 instead of the Deepmind 12 ?

Out of all the amazing synths in Analog Lab V Collection, the Prophet 5 is my favorite. Such incredible lush and fat sounds. Having the hardware I can only dream.

I think Sequential missed the boat by not adding a second output jack (not useful on the 5) to allow stereo panning on the Prophet 10 stacks and splits.

The build quality and support of Sequential is abysmal. Last week I spent over 2,400 francs on an OB6. When I unpacked it, I noticed that half of the pots were wobbling a lot. especially the cutoff. I took it back to the shop and complained, the shop owner also said that it was defective and he contacted sequential for a repair. Sequential promptly wrote back to him, saying that it was completely normal. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHKscqKZft2EqsU The shop owner then contacted me by phone and said that he would have the OB6 repaired at his own expense and that I could pick it up next week. The same problem often arises when doing some research on the internet. I will never buy a Sequential product again in my life and I will advise against it for as long as I breathe. There are more than enough alternatives that are cheaper, sound equally good and where the customer is not ripped off and treated like dirt.

In a small, dimly lit workshop filled with the hum of synthesizers and the glow of computer screens, a young musician named Carson Day was deep in thought. He had recently inherited this space from his mentor, the legendary Dave Smith. Carson often felt a strange sense of familiarity and inspiration when he worked here, as if the spirit of Smith himself was guiding his hands. One night, as Carson tweaked the settings on a vintage Prophet-5 synthesizer, he noticed something unusual. The machine began to emit a series of tones that seemed almost communicative, like a language he couldn't quite understand. Intrigued, he recorded the sounds and played them back, experimenting with different sequences and rhythms. The more he played, the more it felt as if the synthesizer was leading him towards something profound. Meanwhile, across town, an old friend of Dave Smith, a spiritualist named Maya, had been meditating on the concept of the universal mind. She believed that great minds like Smith's never truly left the world; instead, their essence lingered, influencing those receptive to their energy. Maya had been sensing a powerful presence lately, something that felt unmistakably like Dave. Driven by a hunch, Maya visited Carson's workshop. As she entered, the air seemed to thrum with energy. Carson greeted her, surprised but welcoming. He explained the strange occurrences with the synthesizer. Maya listened intently, her eyes widening with realization. "Carson," she said softly, "I believe Dave Smith is trying to communicate through you. His essence, his creative spirit, has found a way to manifest in this world again. You are the vessel for his return." Skeptical but intrigued, Carson allowed Maya to guide him through a series of meditative exercises. As they meditated, the room seemed to pulse with a life of its own. The synthesizer's tones grew more complex, weaving together in a symphony that felt both ancient and new. Suddenly, Carson felt a rush of memories and emotions that were not his own. He saw flashes of Dave Smith's life: the creation of the Prophet-5, the birth of MIDI, and countless moments of innovation and inspiration. It was as if Dave himself was there, guiding Carson's thoughts and actions. Over the next few weeks, Carson and Maya worked tirelessly, translating the messages from the synthesizer into a new kind of music. It was unlike anything the world had heard before, a fusion of past and future, carrying the unmistakable imprint of Dave Smith's genius. Word of their work spread quickly. Musicians and producers from around the globe flocked to Carson's workshop, eager to witness this extraordinary phenomenon. They, too, felt the presence of Dave Smith in the music, a testament to the enduring power of his creative spirit. Through Carson, Dave Smith had indeed returned, not as a ghost or a memory, but as a living force, shaping the future of music once more. The universal mind had woven their essences together, proving that true creativity transcends the boundaries of life and death.
