Lovely playing. Just got mine (used but still had the display protectors attached) a few days ago. Amazing instrument that can do everything from heavenly ambient to pianos and organs to big beat industrial, especially when paired with an Octatrack. The X is a sonic laboratory that reacts instantly to changes made on the fly with lots of hands on controls. Huge mod matrix, 8 LFOs per voice, granular capabilities, very little menu diving (mostly for setup and only 1 level): love this thing.

This is why the Prophet X is in a league of its own. I honestly think this synth is massively overlooked and knocked to the ground because of its price, but what people do not understand that until you actually own one, then you can actually see its true potential. Dave Smith and Focusrite. Please do not discontinue the Prophet X. It really has so much going for it, its even better than my Polybrute, and that's saying something.

I"m currently deciding between Polybrute and Prophet X. Can you elaborate on what makes the Prophet X so good in your eyes?

@@duel5071 They are 2 very different beasts. I have both, the Prophet X can do everything, and it can sound totally jaw dropping but you have to get under the hood and dive deep, but its one of those synths that every time you play it, it takes you to a new direction. The same with the Polybrute. BUT! Out of the 2 I prefer the Prophet X. Because the sound palette is immense and it has 2 synth oscillators and 2 sample oscillators. If you take a Minimoog sample and an ARP sample, then add the 2 synth Oscillators, then you can gp places on which you have never been before. So rich and dreamy. BUT In my honest opinion the Polybrute can sound very retro, they both can, but with the Polybrute has a Morphee and a Ribbon Controller which the Prophet does not have. You really need to try both out. But the Polybrute is more of a performance synth.
