Today, there are healthy ways to get as big as Bonds faster yet 99.9% of those guys cannot hit a ball with coordination. This is a Hall of Fame'r.

Every single time Barry came up, you could feel the power throughout the entire stadium or even through the TV screen at home. You had confidence that this man would launch one every single at bat if he didn't get walked.

Watching Barry with my dad was one of my best childhood memories anyone could have possibly ever had.

He would make contact, and the announcers would just lose track of it and call it a homer. Almost every time, they were right.

Bonds decided those balls would look better on Jupiter
@skiptowne57243 ай бұрын
I doubt if the game will ever see another player like Bonds. I always remember a double header in Houston in maybe 01 or 02. First game they walked hlm every at bat. Second game they gave him a pitch in the 8th or 9th and it was in the seats. The guy never took wild swings. His discipline and ability to pick out a ball to hit are a one time thing. Juice does not give you those gifts.

Murder! Unreal shots! Players need to get back on steroids.
@ssherrierable4 ай бұрын
This was a magical time for me watching bonds and no I don’t care about steroids because he was facing pitchers and other players using them against him so it’s irrelevant to me. If that at bat mattered I don’t care if the bases were loaded they were walking bonds. Him and big papi were killing it but I never seen anything like bonds..

I personally cant stand the guy but if a pitcher gave him anything to hit it was gone. Your best chance was to throw at him or just walk him

It’s important to understand that Barry’s father was treated miserably by reporters, so he was pissed off his entire career. Research Bobby Bonds.

Imagine a lineup with a prime Barry Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa as the 3-5 spots. Just a nightmare!
@danielpenrodii23895 ай бұрын
Take any steroids/supplements away, he is still arguably a top 3-4 hitter of all-time. The ability to swing so smoothly, time it so perfectly, and make the contact he did were all reliant upon skill.
@philb.15025 ай бұрын
The steroids didn't help him?? Yes, they did, or else he wouldn't have taken them.
@danielpenrodii23895 ай бұрын
@@philb.1502 that’s like saying you don’t have to ever workout, just consume more protein, and suddenly you’ll be jacked. There needs to be a foundation of some sort for it to ever occur, like how Bonds was one of the most gifted hitters of all-time. All his attributes were legendary, the steroid use simply helped with recovery but didn’t directly change or impact those mental skills he developed over his life. Dude could’ve done the same thing with a better nutritionist and the mindset of food science that we have now.

Barry Bonds deserves to be in HOF!!! You can be the strongest person the world has ever seen but doesn’t mean you can swing a bat and hit a baseball. The two have nothing to do with one another! What Barry did was hand/eye coordination, skill, hard work, and discipline. It’s a crime against him and the game of baseball to not acknowledge what this man did!!!!
