I don't see a "button" to push. The hole on the back upper left you indicated is a screw hole as are the other three holes in each of the corners of the back of the device. The teensy, tiny little holes adjacent to the words "reset" and "mode" seem to have something to do with those functions, but it is not at all clear how they are accessed. You indicated a space between the word "mode" and the upper right screw hole; then you said that you "hit" the "mode" "button" as you place your screwdriver on top of the little hole and then again when the video didn't show it. Do I have to get a screwdriver and hold it over those holes to activate the reset or mode function? Or am I supposed to "hit" something?

Thanks for the demo! Picking up my new f 150 tomorrow and have been trying to decide how/where I want to keep my similar items in this vehicle. I have better under seat storage in my other vehicle. It was great to be able to see everything that you were able to fit back there.

What did you use for the big gap? Looks like a shim and a thicker piece of wood? Is that correct?
@davidburkholder73603 күн бұрын
A very basic tutorial but leaves tremendous data out. You did not show how the screws went in and how you will finish the jamb. Did you countersink? Fill? Did not look it. Getting the door this "square is rarely an easy matter. Especially with older homes. Lastly this looks like a big box store door and so try this with a "real" door with plastered walls and a much older home. This video simply does not show ALL the aspects of hanging a real door that will outlast the present owner.

Hi. We just did our first cleaning of our hybrid water heater. This video was amazing! I love how you broke it down. Tracked it all. It was so helpful. Thank you!

Wouldn't that make it run all the time? What if you left the door open a crack, wouldn't that achieve the same thing?
@caseyl99064 күн бұрын
I don't think that the heating pad puts out enough heat to make things run all the time. It just allows the actual temperature control unit to continue to operate when it gets actually too cold for it to function. Yes, the installed kit will be running all the time and using extra electricity, but I don't think it really can be that significant of extra burden on electric bill vs. losing a bunch of food. If you are that concerned I have seen other videos that require buying a switch and having a drill to make a hole, etc. so you can turn off the heater unit when temperature is warm enough.

NEVER USE ELECTRIC MODE!!! defeats the purpose of a heat pump.. im running a 80 gal rheem hybrid, and use a well insulated 80 gallon buffer tank (can be an old water heater not connected to gas or electric) put a cireculation pump between them and time it to run at night when electricity is cheapest... set it to 140F and it drops in the buffer tank maybe 10-15 degrees in 24 hours but still is hot... add it after your water heater, then add a mixing valve and set it to 120F... if you do the math, you will have 240+ gallons of water for showers 24/7... thats like a 5 hour shower.. needs to be a lot so your heat pump doesnt work hard or long.. it uses 300 watts for about 3-4 hours nightly... my computer im using right now is using 368 watts writing this... never use electric mode.. EVER... and i live in Canada. paid for itself going from gas in 26 months. amd have never run out of hot water

Ha, the timing of your video is perfect! We're in the NE and talking about installing this exact model. I did read some reviews about the fan noise so thank you for covering that. One question about maintenance... do you have to sweep it out about every cord of wood, more or less?
@FamilyDIYtv8 күн бұрын
I clean it out whenever convenient, but definitely a few times per cord. If it’s hasn’t been on for a week or so and all the ash is cold, I’ll clean out a bunch.

It is good to try to center the new door unit in the door opening. This would have required more shiming on the hinge side. Also good to verify the levelness of the floor. That determines the minimum height of shims on the bottom of the door jambs. Great video!

Save the thin foam sheets you get in TV boxes, you can cut strips off of it as needed to fill gaps. Then caulk over it.

I love it. It's just what we need to keep our trusty 2011 Toyota going. After my wife notified me that the sliding door wouldn't open even in manual mode. This video gives me an idea of exactly what I need to get the job done. I bought the part from the local Toyota for $35CAD. Since I could barely open the door I had to open the rear window so I could cut the cable and open the door fully. Since it just started snowing here I will wait until it warms up so I can replace the cable. BTW, Nice WRX you got in the garage! I had a 2013 WRX. It was the most raw and fun car for winter driving.

Mike! Thanks for your video. I’m wondering if you bypassed using the power pack since you wired direct to 24v transformer? I’m doing this install with an existing 10v transformer which I think I have to replace but I don’t want the physical doorbell.
@FamilyDIYtv12 күн бұрын
Hey - you don't need the battery pack in this type of install, just wire directly to the transformer !
