Several years ago I was in Boston and we were getting ready to cross the street or something. I had never seen bike lanes before and stood in one. Then a bike went by. The person I was visiting there quickly pulled me back “That’s a bike lane. Don’t stand in it!” I completely respect that. I just didn’t know. It does take educating the public. Where ai live in New England we don’t have them at all! We should. Every city should.

13:05 the red did flip to green just as the train moved forward. I did see these on a train a while back with designation as to what they mean so keep looking and you may find one.

Once for a few weeks, I lived in a house that had an alley in the back for trashcans and garages. Kept all the noxious things stuffed in the back. Makes me wish we had those here.

They aren't necessary. It would just be an additional cost for the same output. Since the cars come in trainsets, you won't have to worry about an EMU not having a pantograph haha.

To your question, when not all vehicles that waited on red make it through a green light phase, it's called a failure. onlinepubs.trb.org/Onlinepubs/hrr/1970/321/321-002.pdf This is the horrible logic behind merging the lanes only after the intersection. Costly and dangerous.

Look at that new bike lane! Niiiiooce. My son found one last night to ride home from the movies downtown - and had a pleasant cruise "the long way home." Although, his did lock up crossing Mathilda at McKinley as well. He said it was a fun adventure.

Nice video, it's interesting to see how the Stadler Kiss are outfitted compared to those operating here in Zürich. The Caltrain ones have a lot of seats. Here there is way more open area in the lower decks, in particular around the restroom. Also there are no real tables when two seats are facing, just a small ridge along the window.

Average distance isn't long enough for more? Prioritized seating?
@ZPPrograms
@ZPPrograms 11 ай бұрын
This is a commuter train and not a long distance train. The total end to end travel is around 1 hour to around 1.5 hours in length. With this in mind, Caltrain made the decision to prioritize seating over restrooms. I should also add that a lot of riders don’t go end to end, for example I only ride from Sunnyvale to Menlo Park.

The first six minutes of your video had nothing to do with Caltrain electrification or the new Stadler electric MU train sets. Those six minutes were a total waste of time and should be discarded. The bit with the Good Karma bikes was also a waste of time. Also, slow down when panning your camera. Either that of give us sea-sick pills and aspirin. The term would be operator, not driver. After 14:30, the video is basically another total waste of time and had nothing to do with the Caltrain open house and display.. Why didn't you record the speeches given by the officials? That Santa Clara model train layout was interesting, however.

I am flattered that I made a video worthy of criticism. This is of course an amateur effort, but I had thought to maybe make an "Express" cut of the video. Also, look into the "chapters" function on KZbin. Sometimes Karen is just saying what some of us quietly suspect so thanks!

You appear to need more serious drugs than dramamine and aspirin. Please consult a street pharmacist. Hopefully you can find one within six minutes, and not feel your life has been wasted again.

TIL: adding chapters to a KZbin video is dirt easy, and now folks can easily skip to kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGaldqNmi7KLopo and otherwise control their experience of this video. They can sit around and watch me for half an hour or just jump right to the bits they care about. I think that's pretty good. Everyone wins!

Hello - I am a developer of Simutrans-Extended. Thank you for making an interesting video about this. I am aware of the square towns issue. I do plan to rewrite the town growth mechanism one day to make towns much more realistic economically as well as visually, which is why I have not worked at this stage to address the squareness. In any event, I hope that you enjoy Simutrans-Extended. Do have a go at playing online if you have not already done so - you can join the persistent game on the Bridgewater-Brunel server which has been going since earlier in the year, starting in 1750, and has now reached 1872.
