Simutrans vs Simutrans-Extended: City Generation Comparison

In this video I demonstrate how I switch between simutrans and simutrans-extended, and the differences in the city generator.
In simutrans, the cities come out smaller, and have a more organic shape, but less variety in building style.
In simutrans-extended, cities come out huge, very square in shape, but with more variety in building style.

Hello - I am a developer of Simutrans-Extended. Thank you for making an interesting video about this. I am aware of the square towns issue. I do plan to rewrite the town growth mechanism one day to make towns much more realistic economically as well as visually, which is why I have not worked at this stage to address the squareness. In any event, I hope that you enjoy Simutrans-Extended. Do have a go at playing online if you have not already done so - you can join the persistent game on the Bridgewater-Brunel server which has been going since earlier in the year, starting in 1750, and has now reached 1872.
