I'd suggest upgrading your alternator charging by installing a high output alternator. This could easily pull 80-100A from the alternator and give you a reliable source of charging in winter.

Add a ladder to one of your back doors for the traction boards, also use a lock on them.

Cattle stock tank heater/bucket heater 12v,. Make your own coffee, my hot water pot uses 100w to boil 32 oz water. Immersion heater 12v could be used in tank and another for coffee.

Could you park for a couple of nights in an underground heated parking lot? Would thaw out the grey tank, etc. Also if you can, put some RV antifreeze in the drain, it may soften up the ice to aid in emptying it.

In the winter I will put a gallon of pink RV antifreeze down into each of my grey water tanks. (yes, I have two under my van, one starboard and one port, for the sink and shower respectively). This antifreeze is food safe as it is intended for use in RV water systems. I also drain a small amount through the grey water dump valves. This ensures that there will be no water remaining in the ball valves to freeze. I will follow this procedure whether I am winterizing the rest of my water system or not as the guy water tanks are on the outside and subject to freezing even if I am using the van and keeping the interior warm with my diesel heater. If I am not using the van for a period of time in the winter, I will winterize my full water system by pumping the same pink RV antifreeze throughout my water system to displace any water in the system. I drain and pump the system dry so only small amounts of the antifreeze remains in the lines. I collect this antifreeze for disposal in the regular municipal waste treatment system as while it is food safe, it isn't environmentally sound to dump it on the ground. Some people will hook their water system up to an air compressor and push 40 psi of compressed air through their water lines to blow the water lines free of water; out their open taps/drains instead of using the antifreeze. That works OK too, but I worry about the potential for a small amount of water to remain behind in freeze sensitive areas such as in the coolant:water heat exchanger so I personally prefer to use the RV antifreeze even though that means I have to flush it from my lines a couple times before I refill with fresh water when I want to use my water system. Using the antifreeze also serves to protect my P-traps in my shower and sink drain pipes as the antifreeze will remain behind in the trap. Using the pink RV antifreeze works well for me, but be aware that in extremely cold temps this antifreeze can also become a slush or even freeze, it just won't expand like regular water does when, until it gets crazy cold. Some RV antifreezes are rated for "no bursting" down to -100F. A future upgrade, for me, may be route my diesel heater coolant lines around my grey water tanks, with some added insulation, to keep them from freezing; at least during periods when I am using the van and have the heat on. Some prebuilt camper vans, such as the Winnebago Revel, use this technique to keep their outside tanks above freezing. Another option is the addition of 12 volt tank heating pads to the bottom of my tanks though that can be energy intensive.

Go back to Home Depot ... the automotive aisle ... look for pint sized red plastic bottles of a product called HEET ... it is an alcohol gas line antifreeze. Pour a couple of bottles of that stuff down in there and you'll be good. It always snows on the 8th of Feb ... and what's the story on the eye of Rah? You know why that Ashintully mansion burned down don't you?

Try salt down the sink, keep you drain valve open. You might have to park in a heated garage for a few hours. A hair dryer would work too but you have to lay under the van. good luck. keep your tank drain open.

Wow it has been a tough winter there. I remember those from growing up near Boston. Live in the southeast now but still get to New England every summer. Summer is so fun there and I guess everyone is out trying to make the most of the good weather. Been meaning to comment about your travels from western Mass to Boston. You discussed it in a recent video. I think it adds to the content to have the different scenery and I enjoy seeing the places you explore there. Western Mass is beautiful. I"m a UMass grad so a bit familiar but didn't get to explore that much. There is a rail trail from Amherst to Northampton that was not open when I was at UMass. The Norwottuck rail trail. Maybe bike or even walk it sometime. I believe 11 miles and you could bus back to the van. Anyway, hope you are safe in the upcoming snow storms and find good places to park.

So First Landing is not near Va Beach City Center, you were near the North End that's why there wasn't much going on. The resort area was about 8 miles from the campground, not walkable. Town Center Va. Beach is even further away.

I knew you were going to say you check your cash on hand and investments balance. You had another video about your 3 year break even point. Now, what’s it cost you (all expenses) to live in your Apt/Van monthly? That other video, Someone commented you were cheating system, no You’re beating system. It’s a grind now, but in a few years you can get yourself a modest place (NH), have no debt and maybe semi-retire. (BTW, I’m local, Belmont, 60yo female.)
