João, uma ideia: adicionar o link do video da faca sendo restaurada na página de venda de cada faca do e-bay.

By any chance, what kind of blade steel being used for this knife?

It’s always difficult to put a number on this models that are less recognized by the majority, as a Mora knife. I don’t remember exactly what I paid for it on the auction, but it was above 100€. In the right auction, with the right publicity and production description I see it maybe reaching 150-200€.

Cody lives in a vine dry desert where it rains a handful of times a year you fart too hard and wood will burn. I live in the north eastern Forrest and I wouldn't want to be with out my axe or heavy 2.2 pound rifle man's tomahawk.

Why would one prefer the kansbol to the mora trapper?(2000)
@Oldmora14 күн бұрын
I personally prefer the 2000, the handle is much more comfortable. The Kansbol have the advantage that coming prepared to use with a firesteel but putting a 90 degree spine is an easy task. Both use the exact same blade blank, they are just finished differently
@piningbuck14 күн бұрын
@@Oldmora thank for the info. I have a 2000 and love it. Its honestly as close to a 1 knive solution as i believe there is. Handle is perfect why would the chose to get rid of some rubber on the grip? As far as i can tell from photos the kans dosnt have as nice a finish on the blade either
@Oldmora14 күн бұрын
@piningbuck the plastic used in the kansbol has the advantage of being more resistance. The blade is the 2000 is polished, the blade of the Kansbol has a mate finish

Hey there, since you're asking: I'd enjoy a Mora Companion with a wooden handle. Preferably like the first handle you've shown in this short. Just a different take on an already good knife, I guess.
@Oldmora20 күн бұрын
I really like those handles (it’s very similar my vintage KJE that I carry all the the time ) I only think that for a small knife like an Eldris a shorter handle would be better.

That knife---i might be tempted to leave as is, just because it tells a story. M really put it through hell. Of course, as a restoration goes, this is going to be a great before/after.
@OldmoraАй бұрын
I have always mixed filling about a restoration project. I normally try to distinguish knives that were heavily use over a large period of time (normally they present edges that were sharpened over and over again and sometime mushrooming on the back) and just knives that were used for some times and forgotten. Those that were heavily use I leave as they are. Those that I feel were forgotten I restore.

Concerning my own use, it turns out that I use my short machete more often than my little bushcraft/puukko knife. I'm not going to spend 2 hours cutting a piece of wood in two with my little knife when in 2 or 3 blows with the machete the job is done.
@OldmoraАй бұрын
There are no right or wrongs just personal preferencies. I may self always carry a Mora and a hatchet for the harder work. But is just that, personal preferences. Others prefer heavy duty knives etc. it depended on the person, on the environment, availability etc
