While mucinous ovarian cancer is more rare, there does seem to be a large population amongst us that is caught in either this pre-cancerous or Stage 1. Is there a particular Center that is focused on this subtype? Essentially, how do we get our samples to the right researchers, as survivors?
@wendywestraАй бұрын
Thank you. I have just been diagnosed with serous carcinomas and starting my research . I had a full hysterectomy 😮 and a stint from my kidneys to my bladder. The tumor from my right ovaries has left a skinny dry fallopian tube and climbed up towards my right kidney via my bladder. The really amazing thing is I feel really well 10 days after surgery. I feel really positive about my future. A different perspective.

What about Clear Cell ovarian cancer? the Ovarian Cancer world hasn't developed a single treatment that has shown effectiveness for Clear Cell, and they are treated with treatments developed for high grade serous, and those treatments don't work because clear cell has a completely different molecular structure. So gyn onc knowingly treats patients with the wrong treatment with sideeffects but then death.

Granulosa cell tumor stage1a is it curable?
@asmaalam61435 ай бұрын
I was diagnosed with clear cell carcinoma ovarian cancer stage 3b, surgically removed 8 lbs tumor with total hysterectomy in September of 2023. Didn’t go through chemotherapy as my heart didn’t agree with it. I have recovered and doing well so far. This was an excellent interview and when he mentioned the link between acute depression/ stress and the ovarian cancer it hit close to me as I was going through problems and was often depressed prior to the diagnosis. There are other added factors like diet and not having clean bowel movements and bladder can also be the cause for progression of the disease. Having positive outlook, good diet and rest, clean bowel movements, besides good support system has helped post surgery and during recovery. I believe and hope I’ll recover fully without any recurrence. I hope my experience helps anyone out there going through this
@shetlandsheep30815 ай бұрын
Totally agree, I went through horrendous life events, became very stressed and depressed (so much so that it was classed as clinical depression treated with SSRIs, and after a few months was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Luckily early stage bc of chance - the tumour caused blood clots in legs and lung and the leg pain sent me to GP - of course they might also have killed me but I was lucky). I’m convinced there is a connection. Changed those life factors causing the misery and now have amazing support, and happiness; Wishing you all the best with continued remission!
@asmaalam61435 ай бұрын
I pray and hope for your normal, healthy and content life; and hope you don’t have any mental and physical hardships for the rest of your life. Please don’t let any life stressors get to you as the added pain, sufferings, emotional and financial burden that comes with it is not worth it. I have made conscious change not to let things bother to an extreme. Also eat healthy and clean food and rest well. Take good care of yourself always

There was some misinformation about mirv . In a study of mirv and Avastin that allowed low FRA the low FRA who responded did 3x better in os than high FRA. The difference is in response rate.
@NurseQuipy6 ай бұрын
I'm curious, I'd like to read that study. Would you be able to send the link please?
@margaretiovino60636 ай бұрын
@@NurseQuipy I think I have a chart of their results but maybe not on this phone. I'll look . I'm afraid of not being able to find my way back to your question! It's not on my phone, I'll have to look on my computer . The OS for low FRA was 18 months - there may have been complete response. Low number of these patients but it makes sense in a way because high FRA = aggressive cancer- so if elahere hits the target of low FRA it makes sense they would do better. The only benefit of high FRA is it's easier for drug to find these tumors, so there is a higher response rate. It has nothing to do with how effective it is.

They aren't even trying to find treatments for ovarian clear cell. We need to be allowed out of the ovarian trial ghetto and they need to have trials for all clear cell. There aren't enough of us in the ovarian category and oncologists are giving us drugs they know aren't going to work, you heard her make the distinction. We don't have p53. Oncologists knowingly kick us into our graves, and there is zero effort to find a treatment for clear cell ovarian.

@margaretiovino60635 ай бұрын
What would be helpful is for the FDA to approve his previous successful trial using single and combo immunotherapy. The response rate and duration of response is much better than anything else - especially since there are zero treatments for clear cell ovarian. They impose drugs for a completely different cancer molecularly with Dr. Crispin says here needs a different treatment. The therapies for ovarian cancer do not apply to clear cell - she says so here. But we are forced to take them as the only "standard of care" for them, knowing full well they will die and the therapy will not work, because it is teated and developed for a completely different cancer, molecularly.. Ovarian clear cell has more in common with REnal and Endometrial clear cell.. One trial in Texas from the wonderful Dr. Jazeari is not enough. There should be trials using his findings re immunotherapy that ends in an approved treatment. We currentlly have zero. (unless we have a certain mutation?) For oncologists to knowing force treatments they know aren't going to work is so wrong.. There needs to be a Clear Cell advocacy group. I admire Ovarcome for their advocacy and education because otherwise the NCCN et al are not encouraging screening and that's why we have an 85% death rate. @@Ovarcome
