What if the clay is hard to extrude. Told sister to be sure it's soft. Oh my, she oiled the tube. Good idea? She's one of those to lazy to do things correctly. Ws, nc
@UnrulyHousewifeАй бұрын
Oiling the tube isn't really the issue - the clay needs to be soft enough to push through the hole. Mostly it's about making sure the clay is conditioned thoroughly and warmed up (by kneading).
@joanlowder1376Ай бұрын
Actually I agree with you. I asked if she had conditioned it enough. I often sit on mine to condition it. Ha ha. It helps to warm it up. Told her I'd be worried about using oil but she's hard headed. Thanks for responding

You are a yoda level poster. Sorry for your loss. I went crazy when my folks went in the same month. It did bring about growth for me, ultimately for which I am thankful. As I am for your advice. Thank you.

@timothytimh4321 I'm sorry you had to deal with such a shocking double loss. It can be somewhat cathartic but it still hurts terribly. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the lovely reply. xx

I have a good set of woodcarving chisels which are sharper versions of the lino cutters, but I'd never considered using them on clay! Nice one :)

Thank you. Finally somebody made a cane tutorial that's actually beginner friendly. I was able to complete this and made a pen. It's in the oven now. To many tutorials say their easy but go to a higher degree of difficulty. For those of us who are day 1 beginners doing some of those blends are easier to watch on you tube then actually trying to get them to work.

I have found the hotfix glue on stones tends to liquify/ break down over time, not sure if it’s the plasticizer in the clay that breaks it down, but it eventually makes the stones slide off. I have had to resort back to krazy gluing stones on to keep them in place.

What does "cheeky" mean? And what were you referring to as being cheeky? You began to describe something as being cheeky but then jumped to another subject without finishing the prior "cheeky" topic. I'm always curious about what other people think of OHM Beads. My experiences as a customer have NOT been great. What about yours?
