It's The End Of Frugal February! How Did My No Spend Go?

I decided that in February I would try a No Spend. Four weeks of only buying necessary things, not "wants". Here I am spilling the beans on how it went... PLUS I finished my Declutter 100 Things Challenge!

I didn't follow frugal February, but you have definitely inspired me to declutter 100 items in March. And "No" on miserly March, bc it is my birthday this month and I will be buying a totally necessary ice-cream cake to celebrate. Maybe I will do avarice-free April... if that even makes sense.

Bravo! You did great! I'm not a very big spender online, since I tend to get overwhelmed and then it gets too much and I shut down the site. But I think I do need to declutter a bit and really better organize my craft room. Thanks for sharing your month with us and I'm looking forward to your next video

I went through all my crafting “stuff” and have three tables full of items to get rid of. I plan on having a garage sale. What doesn’t sell I will donate. Thanks for the motivation.

I did good in February. I only spent about $15. on 3 sets of stamps and 2 silkscreens to use on polymer clay but they were all on sale and I saved well over $20 on the purchases if I had bought them anywhere else. When I save more than I spend on craft items that I will definitely use, it's a win. Full retail prices for what I got probably would have been over $50 plus shipping. I did try to buy nothing extra but decided I could reward myself if I had a certain amount left on the last day of the month, so I did and am thrilled with the deals I found. It pays to wait for the deals.

Great job with your Frugal February and decluttering, Val! I'm pleased with my results, too. I started looking at all sorts of things, thinking I would choose one as a birthday treat for myself. I don't even remember what they were-so obviously nothing I can't live without.

Val you inspired me to also do a frugal craft Feb, I’ve also spent nothing, in fact I’ve now decided to do a de stash during March and see how much I can make from the treasures ( 💩 ) cluttering my craft room. I want to make £200 so I’m setting that as a goal here (keeping myself accountable) and I’ll report back.

Congratulations I was a strict but I did think twice about spending. I also now only shop with a list. I was really sick having to throw out food due to a 3 day power outage from an ice storm. My next goal is to not fill the refrigerator so much and only have what I need for a couple of days.

Oh no! Poor you. I have been in a situation where I was snowed in for a week (with my first husband and two little kids), which was what made me think of it. Luckily for us my ex had been on a "making our own bread" kick, so we had loads of ingredients. We had power though, unlike your situation. Plus we had a coal fire and plenty of coal... ❤️

You two are such a lovely couple. Can we have a video, from Dave's perspective, talking about your marriage? Him talking about what made him fall in love with you, marry you, how much was/is age a factor or not at all? What's the secret of an obviously very loving and successful marriage, that happens to be an age gap marriage? Also, how did he deal with the rest of the world, your families and friends and their reactions to your relationship in the very beginning? I'm asking because my bf is 20 years my junior. I'm 44, he is 24.

Thank you! Dave isn't as ready to share his personal life as I am 😂. Age wasn't a huge factor for him (his past girlfriends were his own age) but if there is a TV series with women of all ages on, he tends to fancy the more mature ones. His family and friends like me (I think) because I make him happy. My family like Dave as a person and have given up "judging" beyond that, as he is my third husband 😂. People often assume I am his Mother, which we understand and find funny. People he works with were surprised at my age, at first (they haven't met me) but honestly it doesn't stay interesting for long. I worry that it could be an issue at some point (I'm 65 now) but he just shrugs it off and says he doesn't think about it and he sees me as me, not a person of a certain age. Well, third time seems to be the charm, though I’m sure your first two starter hubbies were lovely as well!☺ We don't get much grief from anyone, yet, since they all seem to insist how 'this is nothing but a short term affair based solely on his libido peaking and mine too, and it couldn't possibly last! At first, I thought, well, fair enough, I'd probably have some assumptions of my own if this didn't happen to me, but it's been 6 months and it's getting a bit old. The 'how's the toyboy' from some of my friends, or family being genuinely shocked when they do realise that we are still together. I mean, in many ways, I don't care, but sometimes I can't help but wonder is it really that odd what we're doing, and where is this bizarre need to let me know it can't possibly last coming from? Haha I think your husband is right! After a few years together, he got used to everything about the way this woman he fell for is, including age, and he is too close to you to see you as anything other than his wife. It happened to me already after a few months. I don't see my bf as a young guy anymore. He is just my guy now, my person and I love him, and he is so good to me, and let me tell you I enjoy stuff from both of our generations now. It's like I exist as part of two generations at once. Fun and not bad at all. Well, thank you very much, sorry to have rambled on and on! I wish you and Dave all the best together, and I just love to see a loving couple -- especially the kind that society thinks cannot possibly work -- work.
