Beautiful! 😍 I have the 24 LT5000 D-HX ARC. I could only imagine meeting the bigger sister. It will probably be better for me fishing off the surf. I'm in the nor'east USA. We go strong on the striped Bass here

Please make a comparison between the 2024 Certate LT vs the new 24 certate sw, in 5000 XH please. I want to get it from Tackle west, Thank you.

The SW is a larger reel and made for heavier applications. Is select SW series for PE3

Is the 5000 body size the same as the 6000 body size like the previous version and the spool being the only differentiator? I’ve read somewhere the 6000 also has a slightly bigger body size ?
@TackleWest3 ай бұрын
The body is the same but the rotor and spool on the 6000 is larger

How is the sizing between the 4000LT and the new 4000SW? I have a 4000lt that I love but am looking for a slightly beefier reel to fill with PE 2 and target bigger fish. I'm currently fishing a stradic 4000 which is noticeably bigger than the Certate 4000lt. Thank you.
@TackleWest3 ай бұрын
The 4000SW is noticeably bigger than the 4000LT range. For fishing PE2 like I would suggest the 4000SW would be the best size to go with

Does the 6000 SW have the same body as the 4000 & 5000 SW or is it bigger?
@TackleWest3 ай бұрын
Yes body is same on all reels but rotors different

as much as i love daiwa spirits to innovate, i much prefer a worm shaft spinning reel in a high end range, its just a more sophisticated system and results in a better and flatter line lay, from my observation some times daiwa had concave line lay even in some of their high end offering
@kongxiong60052 ай бұрын
that's the design.
@lansiman2 ай бұрын
@ i'm not talking about the reverse taper itself, the line lay is supposed to be straight in reverse taper shape, not concave
@kongxiong60052 ай бұрын
@@lansiman I'm sure that concave line laying is just the oscillation doubling up at the ends. As far as I know it doesn't affect my fishy experiences and yes I do have multiple diawa reels but the product still works flawlessly.

5000sw suitable to play heavy games like mekong cat fish 30-50kg?
If you need to fix change a bearing you have to send it to Diawa. Not trying to be a fanboy but you can disassemble the most cheap and expensive shimano and replace anything inside by yourself with a KZbin video. Its a beautiful reel nonetheless and must be amazing until you need to service it and live outside the us, japan or Australia
@bazkaknics60953 ай бұрын
All you need to invest in is an MQ side plate removal tool off Ebay ($60AUD) and the almighty magseal oil ($75AUD off Ebay). Not a rocket science to pull them apart. KZbin has some Malaysian videos where you can observe the process

@fernfolch Of course, the tools are for regular maintenance and they are only worth it if you have multiple Daiwa MQ reels which you plan to keep for long

Wouldn't keep one if you gave it to me. Soft shitty Duralumin gears, faulty magseal system. Used to love Daiwa but until they sort out durability I will be buying Twinpowers.

Daiwa saltiga 2020 and 2023 better
@jaidendewick367313 күн бұрын
Thoughts on why a 23 saltiga is better? Just purchased the 23 saltiga 5000H to target landbased demersals and pelagics, but noticed it doesn’t feel as smooth as the new certates which was slightly concerning 😅
@sydelossantos905813 күн бұрын
@ well I guess it all depends on the person to be honest. Although most of specs on both reels are very similar, but different bearings and materials/features gathered to make the reel itself. the Saltiga typically has a more refined and higher-capacity drag system. The Certate tends to be slightly lighter due to its use of lighter materials like Zaion carbon fiber rotor compared to the Saltiga's aluminum rotor. Another thing is that even though both reels have the same drag system, the saltiga is top of the line for let’s say tuna and giant trevally. Not saying the Cercate is bad, but just referring to experienced fishermen who have these reels like cavy fishing and briggsy fishing. I like both though.
