I can never understand why Daffy feuding with Speedy Gonzales was considered an idea to whoever was in charge of Seven Arts then.
@stephenholloway68935 күн бұрын
Actually this was a Warner Bros management decision while the animation was done by DePatie Freleng. They wanted someone more popular (besides Bugs who they retired from appearing in new shorts) as Speedy's new foe to replace Sylvester. Enter Daffy. Friz Freleng did the 1st one then the rest of the DFE era Daffy and Speedy shorts were directed by Robert McKimson. Then briefly at Format Films by Rudy Laveria then Alex Lovy in the Seven Arts era.

Is it just me, or do studios like Paramount & Warner Bros. don’t feel like major studios anymore, especially since they’ve been bought by studios that aren’t as big as them.

To me, I think that sentiment applies to Paramount. At least Warner still has the biggest film library in the world to benefit them.

I wouldn't say Ruby Gillman bombed exactly, I think the problem was we had to high expectations after The Last Wish.
@ricardonb63756 күн бұрын
I had a friend who was devastated that Ruby Gillman didn't crush the Live-Action Little Mermaid remake like he hoped it would.
@Justii2186 күн бұрын
@@ricardonb6375 I am not among them, however I will say the live action was just virtue signaling basically. But outside of that I like the Ruby Gillman movie and I respect the efforts of the VA's and creators. It did deserve more attention in my opinion, but again as I said was downplayed by the expectations that was "The Last Wish"

3:40 D&D HaT wasn’t a bad movie. I told people “you don’t have to know the lore. If you like Guardians of the Galaxy, medieval fantasy, and the leads, you’ll like the film. The bigger issue was Hasbro, the owner of D&D. The OGL fiasco not only ruined their subscriber count, but also turned people away from the film. A month before the film released, every third party developer was given a new contract to sign. Basically, anybody who used the Open Game License must pay a quarter of their revenue to Hasbro, Hasbro owned their products, and had the right to kick OGL users out on any whim. A few people broke the NDA and leaked the document. The internet went into an uproar, while Hasbro was quiet for over two weeks. An insider reported that Hasbro’s thumb was on DnDBeyond subscriptions to determine population backlash; so many people unsubbed that within 24 hours, a hotfix removed the unsub button and made it a ticket you had to submit to an irl employee to file for you. It took another week after that, and multiple companies like their rival Pathfinder announcing their own OGL substitutes, for Hasbro to write their first response. Even the dumbest most loyal KZbinr responded with rage, since the letter would alternate between flat out lies and gaslighting the entire community. Even more people began to unsub to DnDBeyond, and even cancelled their tickets to the film. It took a third apology, accompanied by making the framework of 5e Creative Commons, for anybody to take their apology seriously. And even after that, D&D PR was so bad, the heads of D&D went on an apology campaign across all the major D&D KZbinrs. They were allowed to ask any question they wanted, trim the interview however they wanted, and upload without oversight from them. In war terms, it was an absolute surrender, and the generals were paraded for everyone to see.
