Since it looks like they hit it on the initial drop, do you think one could fish this setup with a bobber too? I ask as where I fish I loose my setup constantly as it gets hung up on stuff at the bottom.

If you're going to fish with bobbers, slip bobbers are the only way to go. You can set them (how deep) and size them (how much weight of lure, bait, line, etc,) will they support for any depth of water and any reasonable amount of weight hanging from them. I'm in the process of training a couple rookie fishermen and bobber fishing is the method they're most comfortable with so far. I just sent them this video to watch before the next time we go out.

Hey Dan! Nice work on the water!! I love slip bobbers for deeper brush piles, but 4 feet and less I prefer a spring bobber less messing around. I am curious how deep was the water you were fishing?
@dominatefishing964122 күн бұрын
right on! I was fishing about 2-7 feet. the gills were up shallow in the 2 feet and also scattered down the drop. I have a friend down river from you who is doing good on walleye in the evening... have you been out?

Awesome video, Dan! You’ve rekindled my desire to go after bluegill. It’s a little tougher for me. I am over on the Wisconsin River flowage Lake, Dubay. Gills are kind of hard to find. But plenty of back bays with wood.
@dominatefishing964128 күн бұрын
thanks Dave! yea I remember you were from over there. I have not fished Dubay but I have fished south of there and thee gills and crappie can be big when you find them! but all that wood makes it tricky...

Ive never used a jig. Do you make it hop or what?
@dominatefishing964128 күн бұрын
lots of options, you can make it hop... you can swim it, an easy approach is to fish it below a bobber. in my latest video i show how I fish one for big bluegill with a jig and plastic under a bobber.
