@@bydesignmethod You're welcome! I’ve been exploring what I can do with AP lately. I'm so tired of Adobe and their constant crashes. As a home user, I don’t have a massive IT team to make the software work or maintain it for me, and Adobe can’t seem to get it right, even though I’m an IT professional.

I have tried, but have been unsuccessful…but do you happen to know how to do a painterly effect like in PS?
@bydesignmethod2 күн бұрын
Good question, I haven't found anything yet for that effect. You can add photoshop plugins to Affinity, but I'm not sure if the success rate. I'm hopeful for some cool effects coming soon.
@78rshinzato2 күн бұрын
@ I did find one video and tried doing a macro for it, but I noticed that you cannot use all the tools while recording. But, if it is of any help, the video suggests going in to the tone mapping persona, then after that, doing layer, new live filter layer, noise, de noise. Then, layer, new live filter layer, sharp, unsharp mask. I’ve tried this, but cannot get anywhere with it 🙁. As for PS, too cheap to pay for it lol.

Is there a way to add some repeats when using the Radial type of gradient? That could create a starburst effect.
@bydesignmethod5 күн бұрын
Hey, Great question. When your gradient is made click on it in the top left corner - under 'fill' Under the STOP feature you should see 'Insert, Copy, Delete' Try the copy function and change some of the gradient colours to play around
@CreationCassel5 күн бұрын
@@bydesignmethod It does copy only ONE color at a time. Definitely not the way to create even multiple repeats. It seems like such a simple feature. I think I can do a repeat for the linear with a New Layer Pattern from a selection, but not for the others. :(

AI select seems to work really well, i tested against Photoshop on a few images, overall I thought Affinity was doing a slightly better job than Photoshop, if they can add generative fill and generative expand and make it as good as Photoshops them Adobe is screwed, just like they screw their customers!... Now Canva have bought Affinity, with more resources I can see things moving much faster with new AI features. How about a full blown RAW Editor with Cataloguing features too? You never know!
@bydesignmethod9 күн бұрын
Yeah it seems to be working great! Affinity certainly has the backing now to add those features, I think if so they'll go about it the right way (optional, etc) a RAW editor with those features would be very exciting for the product!

Is this video more for design as opposed to photo . I had a quick view of the chapter and see no mention of raw development, also this document thing has me confused. I only want to develop a raw photo then do some basic exposure and changes to highlights etc before saving as a jpeg. What has a document got to do with a photo?
@bydesignmethod12 күн бұрын
Hey, This is more focused on design. I do touch on the develop persona (this will automatically open when you open a RAW file in Affinity) Just because you're interested in a RAW photo it doesn't mean I'm going to skip over a basic function of creating a new document for the other 90,000 people who have watched this video.

How to make golden and 3D text on picture? Golden beautiful and stuff, or just normal beautiful fonts, something special. Some words are written or should be, in gold.
@bydesignmethod13 күн бұрын
Hey, Here is a video on 3D text ---> kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXWZhZWHaNB9hck The best way to get the golden is too drop a picture of a golden texture inside the text in the layers panel. If you check the 'advanced layers' portion of this video it will show you how to do that. Super easy!

we're talking about an upgrade, not an update, right? In a way, we have to "pay for it again"! We should give up the "pay once and you're done" lie. I personally have no problem paying for advanced features, but we shouldn't pretend that everything will be free in the future. We have to pay for what we get ...full stop!
