Unfortunately not much you can do. I know a guy who made a habit of getting to know all the neighbors way ahead of season, in his case he likes to make home brew wines, so he drops off a few bottles and such to neighbors well ahead of season, helps clear driveways in the winter and such, goes a long way when situations like this come up.

EHD is running rampant and you still feel the need to hunt? Just because the brain dead DNR doesn’t shut down hunting doesn’t mean you can’t do the right thing on your own…
@anamericanpatriot523021 күн бұрын
Fools everywhere commenting when they can't think logically. Hunting is conservation , conservation is hunting ! The Wild game herds in America are suffering from a government-induced disease and bacteria in elk herds and the deer herds, part of their 2030 agenda to stop hunting, to stop Gardens, to enforce 15-minute cities, to ban collecting rain water , but in the meantime let's not cull the sick animals out of the herds. let's let them stay there and infect the rest of the herd ! is that your thinking ? I know what side you vote for Smh
@GrantSmith_Bowreaper21 күн бұрын
Yeah I just follow what the local wildlife officers say. Fortunately our county is really over populated. I haven’t found a EHD deer on my property yet. The properties that I hunt that have found them I have not hunted yet this year. I think it’s just all the standing corn around my house.

You gotta sleeve that arm holding the bow to prevent the string from catching the suit. I can tell you shoot a bow well, this will help you out in the long run. That will effect your shot at longer distances. Its creating a little bit of torque on the arrow when it leaves the bow. You can see it best if you paper-tune your bow with and without the arm-sleeved to prevent the slap.
@GrantSmith_Bowreaper23 күн бұрын
100%. I ended up trimming the sleeve some but it still wasn’t enough. When I use the suit I just roll up the sleeve now and use my base camo underneath for my arm

The third issue was a bearing went bad in the upper cam. I have had many Hoyt’s over the years and never had a warranty claim. This now has had 3 lol. With that being said I absolutely love how it shoots. I have dropped it all the way down in weight so it is like 74 lbs draw now. I think the 86 lbs was just too much for the bow to handle. Many years ago I had a climbing tree stand that did not have an attachment to the climber / seat portion. the standing platform gave away and fell to the bottom of the tree. Luckily I had the then version of a fall safety harness - the waist belt and the tree security strap with tether. I was left hanging from the security strap with only the climber portion of the tree stand at my level. I was young enough at that time and able to reverse myself to face the tree, hug the tree, shimmy up a little bit to relieve tension on the strap around the tree and lower the strap and tether to chest level and then repeat the process until I got to the bottom of the tree. I look back on that incident and think God must have been with me. (Had to go back and edit my reply because I have noticed all the Google voice recognitions! Google sucks)

Next time you should have a new plate for each weapon setup, especially firearms. Hopefully, you will see this and try it out. As a soldier I know some arrows can pierce it as well as rounds, but it dies hold up against 7.62 in alot of situations, but the problem is being hit numerous times. Once it cracks and absorbed the first hit it's drastically less effective
@GrantSmith_Bowreaper2 ай бұрын
👍
@d00mbr1nger62 ай бұрын
This is a bad test. You compromised the plate after the first few arrows and pistol. The ceramic had already cracked it and taken away its ability to Crack and absorb/disperse kinetic energy. This is why all soldiers get issued "training " plates and then "combat/deployment checked" plates before deployment. We understand that damage could have happened to plates during training resulting in reduced effectiveness
@GrantSmith_Bowreaper2 ай бұрын
@@d00mbr1nger6 this is a bowhunting channel. Everything I do is for bowhunting and archery. The point of the video was to see how an arrow would do vs a plate. The pistol and rifle was just for fun. Clearly the plate was weakened by the previous two. With that being said it actually stopped the rifle round. I didn’t realize it until after filming. It broke the plate but the round never penetrated. I have it displayed in my office now.

@@jacobbaldwin2422 I still have it and still really like it. I have taken it all over the country. I have taken it off roading on hunting trips and put 1,000’s of miles on it with very little issues. We have used it for almost 200 nights now. It has had some minor issues. The awning arm broke but was covered by warranty. The toilet leaked which was a dometic issue and was covered by warranty. Other than that it has been fantastic. I have taken it places that an RV should never go lol. I will be taking it from Ohio to Alabama next week for an archery tournament and have no plans of getting rid of it. I do believe that all RV roofs are complete junk and you will have to stay on top of the roof maintenance.
