Lovely looking motor

I had a Discovery 3, it is a fantastic vehicle, but, and there's always a but with Land Rovers and Range Rovers, I was always waiting for something to go wrong, and to cost a fortune. A very complicated vehicle to run and maintain, made with the cheapest components they could get away with, ie, breaks, you're always on them and the standard ones just not up to the job, as found out the hard way.

If the pedals are laid out right, heal and toe it through town, that sounds good. I have a kit car and drive it like I stole it, where as my euro box I drive like miss Daisey, it's the mind set, the being different it feels special, even stuck in a motorway tail back while everybody else is stuck in their euro boxes, and this is what the "it has four wheels and it goes crowd" don't get, the smell of fuel and hot oil, they are more than the sum of their parts, it's an event, a performance, the road is our stage. P.s. Ya gotta change that dash though.

The buyer seems to be claiming multiple problems in their claim. Not suitable for their intended use I would suggest is not your responsibility as you have not physically visited their property so cannot "reasonably" be in a position to advise them whether it would be up for the task - forget about what you said and they claim as its not proveable so should not carry any bearing on your liability for fit for purpose in my opinion as its down to the buyer to make an informed decision as to whether the spec' of the mower meets their needs?. The 'holes in the deck issue, again just my opinion is all about the age of the mower and the price they paid for it. If they paid top money then you will likely be liable, if they paid a 'reasonable' price for a used mower and the 'holes' do not detrimentally impact on its operation then I would like to think the tribunal will judge they got what they paid for?> Was £18,00 a good, fair, price for that mower? if the price reflected the condition then the chances are you will be o.k. If it was me and the price they paid was less than retail compared to other traders put it in writing to them that liability to assess suitability is Always the buyers responsibility and the holes and belt are too be expected for the price?

Great job! Just a quick note put your trolley jack on the subframe not the control arm! Could easily slip off and also you are putting a lot of strain on the control arm holding the car up! 😃

Old mechanics trick with tight bolts....try to tighten a fraction first, the nut will then normally loosen.

No cover on the wings when servicing.....

Cheap pattern parts.....there maybe trouble ahead.

Not legal advice, but I do know one thing, if they claim a letter sent that you didn't receive unless they can PROVE you received it, it doesn't matter. I know pretty much every postal service in the world has a version fo certified or signature delivery or other ways to show that a piece was delivered, so if they just mailed it willy-nilly, it could be anywhere. Even more fun, if you have a signed receipt, HA HA HA. Voicemails are admissible in court, HA HA HA. Texts are admissible, HA HA HA. Plus, they waited until NOW to sue??? Tell your lawyer (and I DO suggest getting one) to have fun with this.

those RR compressors fit an Audi Allroad too , theres one blind hole that needs drilling out but its simple , lots of RR workshops will give you an old compressor , you only need to swap the whole thing if the bore is scored or worn , an indication is when the new ring only lasts a month or two and the compressor is still a bit noisy

You will lose 100% if you go to court,as you know there is no such thing as sold as seen with no warranty if you are a business selling to the public,this only applies if you are selling trade to trade or via auction or sold as faulty requiring repair.They in this instance have 30 days from the date of purchase to return without giving any specific reason for a full refund minus a deduction for wear and tear/depreciation/damage etc,they tried this 3 days after purchase with a £200 reduction and you refused so the court will take a very dim view of this and find in their favour I’m afraid.I think in this case you just need to realise your beat and swallow your pride,give them £1600 and sell the mower to someone else and move on with your life otherwise you’re just going to end up 3k+ out of pocket and a ccj,not really worth it is it

£1800 is well cheap for that. Sad bastards - who sues for that?

I’m really surprised the Police did anything I was burgled a year ago whilst I was in hospital, the neighbours witnessed the guy driving my car away and he came back to the flat a couple of times I passed on all the info to the Police and they closed the case without questioning anyone who witnessed it No faith in the system at all

Action Fraud was set up to avoid police having to investigate, they are civilians and a waste of time. They fob you off.

Ironically, action fraud is the biggest fraud in the uk legal system. they do nothing, it just a data collection exercise outsourced to a US private company
