Don't know why, but I LOVE that you could open the door to get that rail on, lol.

Like #890 I haven’t done any testing, but I suspect that epoxy tables have less movement than most as the surface of the wood has been sealed unless it was planed /sanded down significantly. Even then, finishing a piece on both top and bottom helps.

Really like the idea of using the machine as a standing machine for those small pieces 🙌 very easy to see how much more efficient it is!

Great explanation, thanks! Just a quick question, is it also possible to align the nut and plastic part on the outer side of the cabinet? That might be a way to hide them when they're facing the floor, or when adding another cabinet on top.

Great explanation, so how do international fine furniture manufacturers account for the difference in wood moisture between all the continents if its 12 percent in europe and 8 in the US, how do people on etsy for example produce in one country and sell to another without adverse affects is there something that needs to be done to account for this. Thank s for the information

How do you know/measure how tall/large of gap you need, for each tool to rotate without bumping? I have a Ridgid R4331 bench top planer and a Delta Cruzer 10" miter saw that I would like to build a flip top cart for. Thanks!

Good explanations. The “seasonal changes” does cause shrinkage and expansion. In the winter, though, the cold air holds less water and therefore has less humidity than in the summer. Even indoors the air will be even less humid due to the source of “dry heat”, unless using a humidifier.

I think a good application is making CKD furniture and cabinets. My garage workshop is down a level, accessed by a lift. Moving the cabinets would be a challenge. The components could easily be transported, piece by piece, and then assembled in situ.

Why on earth knockdown/cam lock fastners are not widely adopted in US by now? I mean whole europe uses them and i guess they're as sturdy as the classic praised hand made biscuits, hand pockets and so on.

Gonna try this method. Thanks. I have some doubts about the wax actually preventing the dovetail from getting glued to the tabletop. Did you have any issue with wood movement?

One of the weirdest porn intro I've ever seen... I have figured out the same shelf fitting system but I'd have to put that shelf into a gap that tiled. I'm afraid about boring the holes because tiles are pretty hard to bore precisely.

Design and construction of furniture need to consider wood movement primarily in the indoors environment. We all know this. Humidity is greater in the summer than in winter in all regions of the world if the indoors environment is air conditioned. Heating in winter time dries the indoors environment and the wood shrinks. In the summer, even though air conditioning dries the indoors environment as well, the humidity is much greater than in the winter time. In the US we design assuming that the humidity will be greater in the summer than in the winter. We are in the northern hemisphere, the same as Germany. How can your humidity be greater in the winter than in the summer?

Wow that flattening jig is way too over complicated also yes the table should be flat.....if you start completely flat there will be no need for shims and less chance of being not being flat by the time you get that ....thing made.

i suppose the wood finish like stain, oil, or paint can affect those percentages. If the wood has a hydrophobic surface, it should minimize wood movement i think.

Sehr schöne Arbeit und auch das Endergebnis. WOW 👍🏻👍🏻.

So your boiled eggs don't roll off. It's also embarrassing when a plate rocks because the table isn't flat. You don't need sub 1mm precision though, but decently flat is good enough especially as most wood will need to acclimate to wherever it ends up being installed so some movement is to be expected.

I'm not doubting the quality of your work, i just have a couple of questions. As far as it being on a slope, does the grain pattern direction cancel out the benefit at all, and isn't it better to have the fence locked in at 90° instead of having to make sure it's at 90 every time you use it and also risk that it moves while you're using it? Just wondering. Thanks
