I've already sent this post to a few of my less informed Trump loving/Biden haters. Political Theater for sure! Pure pandering.

Too cool for school! In effect, this isn't even newsworthy other than a factual comment. Thank you, again!

Thanks for this post. I was just telling someone the lack of effect that it will have (even if Trump reverses it) and was looking for some info

Sorry bud, but you're wrong. Fossils have never been found below ~100m from the surface. Oil is regularly drilled at depths of 30000m or more. Therefore, oil is a naturally occurring by product of the earth. [smile]

2:45 “and now that Biden has done this, Donald Trump can blame him” Your videos serve as a compass to navigate questions about energy production in the climate issue. I would classify myself as a Progressive/Liberal/Fair-Market Capitalist (Sanders, Warren, Krugman) I would also claim to be someone who is trying to be reasonable in pursuit of the optimal. Perhaps my most reliable sources in the climate debate are Department of Defense and the insurance industry. Any other suggestions for reference in research by a layperson?

So Ukraine has halted NG from Russia to EU countries. How will this affect US LNG expansion? Seems to me, the ban on new LNG facilities will be overturned ASAP.

Just to point out any time a study puts forth a number it is almost always an approximated guess at the future. So the increase in bills may be $100 a year or it may be $80 or $120. This doesn't change the fact that it's an inconsequential amount, just wanted to remind people to take forecasted numbers for that they are: An educated guess.

Oh yea... It's true. Sometimes politicians just get it plain wrong. Other times they are misinformed. And then it's the group that consistently puts out wrong information specifically to target a minority of people who usually don't have the resources to defend themselves.

Hmm, I didn't realize that about all the ancient existing leases! So it's all just so much noise. Makes sense though, in the ensuing decades the oil & gas companies have developed all those methods to go out horizontally and then down from one hub, so they don't actually need near as many individual wells...

It’s great that we’re energy independent, but we are not oil price and independent. As long as we trade oil on the global market at the global price, we will be exposed to supply and demand shocks that drive up prices at home, even though we’re making more than we consume. That economics 🎉

It is ridiculous what the finding was in favor of the tribe. In summary, the tribe owns the mineral rights (but not the land itself) where the wind farm was constructed. When the wind farm was built, holes were excavated for the turbine foundations. Apparently where this wind farm is located there is a lot of rock near the surface. Instead of importing crushed stone to use as backfill of the foundations, the company crushed stone encountered in the foundation excavations to use as backfill. This was ruled to be considered mining under state law which fell under the mineral rights jurisdiction that were held by the Osage nation. The court ruling was that the wind farm had to obtain a mining lease for the stone that was crushed from the excavations and used as backfill on the foundations. So constructing a structure with a foundation counts as mining. That is absurd. Virtually all structures have foundations buried in the ground. This a bullshit finding and honestly should only be report to call attention to the absurdity of mineral rights being applicable at all.

I saw this post on TikTok a few days ago, glad you posted here as well. The point you are making is that the main stream media has not picked up this news story and published. You are of course correct. But, other than a few local news agencies this story is very well hidden. I even checked on the Energy News Network and they did not carry this story. I have no independent way of judging Energy News Network for their bias' but it seems like they are not overly biased one way or another. Someone can correct me if needed. I think this may be seen as just a local story. 300 million is a lot of scoots for you and me (at least for me) but in this era of things that make the news the money alone is probably too small without adding some spice to the story. As far as re-litigating this outcome in the comments below, as some are doing, pointing out that the court decided this case incorrectly well folks; it's been litigated, Enel is pulling out the wind turbines. Maybe they and others will learn something from this rather grievous injustice. (I doubt it but yay for the Osage Reservation and the Osage Minerals Council)
