I wonder how many heads blew up with trying to get the concept of future value vs present value. Love listening to your take on things.

Thank you Mr Global; I've been following your channel for maybe a couple of months now. Of all the KZbin channels I subscribe to; your channel is the one I now look forward to viewing the most. Your knack of combining oil market expertise and explaining subtle concepts in reasonably simple terms is a real asset to viewers. I wish you, your family, and all subscribers a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday.

Your explanation is spot on and relates to everything else we complain about as consumers. Merry Christmas !

People have a hard time understanding the 8th wonder of the world, compound interest and inflation.

Its like no one took economics.

Nobody seems to understand economics! I'm sure many things follow this true value vs present value truth. Heck, when I was a little kid, in like 1970, gas was $0.29/gallon, and the 4 different gas stations at an intersection would have "price wars" and you could get it for $0.25/gallon. The average price of a new car then was like $3,500, average home was $25,000...But wait. The average full time income was $9,200. So if they want to dial everything back, everything has to be dialed back, including income.

But, but,but.... that requires common sense ?! Spot on !

Back in 99-00. Gas was like .99 a gal. And like 20 a barrel.

People still complained about how outrageously expensive everything was and how it used to be cheaper.

Love the knowledge and a few more words for the algorithm. Wish a few more “experts” would look in and learn.

You mean oil companies aren't willing to lose money for our benefit? It's no different than expecting someone to work for $8 an hour... But half of us somehow can't understand this.

Question for you Mr. Global . . how accurate is it for oil companies to forecast the value of an oil barrel over several future horizons (i.e. period of 10, 15, 20 years)?!

One translates to the other in all reality.

The cheapest was like .99 a gal to little over $4. From what I remember. ( In this area.) Edit: not to mention that it's sold in the market. Supply and demand. 😁

So a dollar today is not worth a dollar 10 years ago. I summarized in 10 words what took him 4 minutes in a video

This is the kind of economics one learn On The Job and not in the halls of universities Mr. Kris (with a K). Listen and learn . . only then you earn the privilege of making a comment on Mr. Global’s videos.

Every engineering degree requires a course called Engineering Economics to determine whether to spend money on projects. That is exactly what you are talking about. Kris maybe a field hand???

so you're saying. they want at least 25 loaves of bread per barrel since it now costs 21 loaves of bread just to get it out of the ground and shipped.
