I actually wasn't paying much attention to what the Dems weren't talking about.... And it's weird, I missed the whole thing with Katie Porter.... Sigh. But no, I disagree that's why he lost. There are still 71 million idiots that decided it be a good idea to bring in the same epic disaster again.... After he screwed everything up so royally the last time..... ugh.... 3 steps forward, 19 steps back.... 4 steps forward, 23 steps back.... First down.

I think one of the major issues is that the Republicans screw everything up and the Democrats just put Band-Aids on it afterwards. Regeanomics is still in place, participation in unions have steadily declined, college keeps getting more expensive, income gap keeps growing. It feel like this country is speeding to its own doom and the democrats just push on the brakes a little bit while leaving the brick on the gas pedal and the republicans are fighting to keep democrats away from the brake pedal. My analogy is a little off, but you can see it with Trump adding 8 Trillion to debt and Biden only adding 4.9. Were still under Trump era taxes, border policies, some tariffs and more. 8 Years of Obama saw us still in Afghanistan, a sheer lack of support for Ukraine under Obama, Trump, and Biden until the Russian invasion stalled, though it was higher under Trump on average. There doesn't seem to be any real unfettered concern for the American people with either party. Trump is insane, but people are to ignorant and apathetic to care. Inflation accelerated the decline and left people very unhappy, they don't care why, Biden is an easy scapegoat. Though Biden did plenty wrong he didn't cause inflation but it just doesn't matter to the American people. You can see the same trend with people in other democracies. People are loosing hope.

This was part of my gripe. Dems lost on one of the gop's biggest whiney grievances (among other bs). The gas price argument could have been turned around. Didn't even properly take it on. This type of missing-the-point is why I became unaffiliated earlier this year. This election should have been a win, but dem's messaging sucks.

They don't bother talking about policy like that because Americans (averaging a 6th grade reading level) don't like being talked to with details and logical arguments. They feel "talked down to" and have expressed as much about Democrats in polling. People run on feelings, which Republicans are much better at tapping into. Emotional arguments, as we've just seen, tend to win.

We can only make some guesses, but presumably they felt it was better to just not invoke Trump's name at all in order to keep it out of the media. Probably figured it would inflame his followers into shouting more about "fake news" and "witch hunts". Its the same dumb decision they made to not talk about how Trump forced the Afghanistan withdrawal, and it was his orders that caused all of that military equipment to be left behind for the Taliban, and which released thousands of Taliban fighters before he left office.

Do you really think Americans care about stupid gas prices. Let me give you an example Monday I was traveling in a commercial area .Came to stop light to the left there was an older MOBIL Station with 8 gas pumps with an electronic sign gas $2.79 two cars pumping gas. Across the street was a newer chain with 20 pumps and an electronic sign gas $3.05 and the pumps were packed.
