Oh duuuuude, I had that happen too! Never again have I ever used an overflow box. Either drill for an overflow, or buy a reef ready tank. I also bought sensors for my APEXs as I didnt have them before. $6,500 damage to hardwood flooring. Wife went BALLISTIC!

I installed a valve check and a Venturi power head. It pulls the air out and adds water movement to my tank. (I am freshwater)

Yes, you can have multiple dwarf angelfishes in a tank. I have a 200 gallon tank with corals, tangs, angelfishes, damsels, etc. I even have 2 flame angelfishes in the same tank, male and female. Queen Angel, Emperator, Swallowtail, and African Flameback. They don't touch the corals and I feed them at least 4-7 times a day.

I made a huge mistake and set up a 20 g long and used 2 inch bioballs and big pieces of rubble coral skeletons ect! I didnt realize the difficulity in keeping it clean! I have to tilt the rack and try to vacuum underneath and zoasl pop loose and I forget the exact spot I had them at! I tried to cut the bio balls down and they just fall apart and would make vacuuming even harder! I saw someone who had a 20 g bare bottom and just had a little rubble in his HOB filter! His corals were fine! What can I do now? Its also difficult for snails to do their job. I lost the entire first batch of 6 and 4 were trochus so what the heck can I do now. Can I start removing the rock little by little? Or maybe place it in media bags or open plastic baskets with lots of holes for flow. I also have a molly and nitrates are 18 and po4 was high but using gfo to bring down. I have never even feed the zoas that are in there for nutrients to be so high! Should I get rid of Molly or is it normal to be high in the beginning? Its about 4 to 5 months old been running lights on blues for about a month and looks like diatoms are going away and now able to keep zoas. The first batch I put in died or barely hanging on! Appreciate any help!

I have two that are about 6". There is a little chasing in my 125 long (6') but nothing severe. I don't know that they don't stop swimming...lots of the time they just chill. I get unflavored nori /seaweed from the supermarket which is a lot cheaper than pet stores.

The only way to humanely keep these is to copper treat them for a month in quarantine. If youve already had ich or velvet in yoir display you really need to go fallow for 6 weeks with the temp at 83 degrees while you quarantine the fish in copper for 6 weeks. Otherwist the first bit of stress they will have ich and soon the rest of your fish will too, ending in many dead fish

That's odd. If your corals are ok the shrimp should be as well. Unless you have soft corals. Check calcium.

Thanks for this video, I can't tell you how important it is to quarantine your fish, I learned the hard way, I'm new in this hobby, and my local store where I was buying all my fish, (Blue Hippo Tang, Coral Beauty, Powder brown tang, Powder blue tang, and so much more was taking me for a ride. After losing so many fish and a lot of money I asked them for help and they kept telling me just to add Dr. Tim One and Only and that should fix my problem, Well I didn't know better and I just did what they told me to do and nothing worked. So I started to educate myself on saltwater fish, How to cycle your tank, and before adding fish you must quarantine them for 4 weeks, my wife always says quarantine is like a warranty after the 30 days you have to wait another week just to make sure it doesn't break. I purchased another Powder Brown Tang and had him in my 20gal quarantine thank for 30 days, I put him in my display tank, and after 3 weeks I saw a small sine of white spots on him, I immediately took him out of my display tank and place in back in the 20gal quarantine tank and added the Copper Power, I have the Sch level at 1.021 and the water temp at 72 degrees hoping this works. we'll see, I just hope that it didn't affect my display tank.

You are super my friend!! but I still have one more question... so I'll start from the beginning. Say that there is already the main aquarium in operation, with its upper and lower ones..if we want to put a valuable animal in it, would you suggest that I quarantine it to avoid as much trouble as possible?? Thank you very much and I would really like your opinions!!!!

I wonder there are several mimics, does that have any impact on the colors of the adult colleration or will they all look the "same" as they get older. )i know this video is old but perhaps I'll still get an response) :)

When you install the overflow, just install a one way valve, then use a piece of tubing, suck the air out and that is it. If you want you can put a cap into the piece of tubing to double sure that the air will not get past the check valve. It is not necessary to use a pump to keep the air out.

All you need is any aqua clear power head. Run an air tube from nipple on overflow to air injector on power head. Problem solved.

The Coral Beauty has always been a favourite fish. I had one for about six years until my tank crashed. Mine was mild tempered (actually had a bicolor and a Singapore in the 180g tank as well and there was no aggression). The only corals that were at risk were fleshy ones like open brain and such. Otherwise good with sps and lps. Fascinating to watch it swim in and out of the rock work.
