The hx35 is pretty much the perfect turbo for those engines. Slow spooling turbos are the enemy when it comes to IDIs since the torque hits so low.

Color of the "dropped" coolant and "crud" explains the thermal exchange issue. i.e. blown bottle If a vehicle is overheating, diagnose it. Just like Renix owners refer to Cruiser54's (RIP) website for his tips. Want to swap, cool.

My '84 2 door was the same color interior and exterior with the 5 speed manual. Put 187K miles on it. GF wrecked it. I have roasted those '44 axes a lot. Guys would plow with my trucks, turn the wheel in deep wet snow, hammer the throttle, feel the joints banging and wonder why.
@johnlagreca62882 ай бұрын
Cool truck. I had an '84 brand new. Only new vehicle I ever owned. I plowed with an '86 Full Size Bronco though, which was fairly maneuverable, but nothing like an XJ. Makes me want to get one. I am plowing with an '07 Expedition currently. Slight beast for the smaller jobs. I don't like traveling between plow jobs with the blade angled to the left like you do in the video here. If someone forces you to the right the blade can get caught up in the snow bank on the right and angled like that it just sucks you off the road.

I am debating a new 6.7. Warranty is cool and all, but end of the day you have a choice; either you have a clean reliable engine or a nasty one at the dealer for warranty on emissions crap.

@@Grewsum2Sum Yeah. Willwood teamed up with Lola on the 7/10 cars. The one I had in the early 2000s had them.

@dalesmth1 from all the info we know about these that is not something we learned
@Grewsum2Sum3 ай бұрын
@dalesmth1 did some research and talked to someone who is in contact with the new owners of lola. I can confirm they never partnered with wilwood, and they never sold a t506a or t506b with disc brakes. They do have brakes from an English ford though and you can easily convert the cars to disc brakes with a kit if you want, though. So yours that you owned must have been converted at one time, but it did not come from the factory like that.

Kind of way too late here, but i have a pair of rav4 buckets with threaded pipe ends welded to the floor. No arm rests, but the windowsills are the right height and the oem center console would be pretty good if i had one that survived. Edit: had an 89 ranger v6 with a massive alt (180? Vs the stock 60) parallel wired like that. It had just a touch more resistance than the stock circuit so if that ever blew it had a very heavy backup circuit. Well done!

Pretty sure Dana44s are only 1/2 - 3/4 ton rated axles, not 1 ton. Don't matter how much money you put in 'em. Smaller internals, smaller tubes, smaller shafts. Still a nice Cherokee, gotta love the 2 doors. Should push that rear axle back a few inches though, looks like it'd eat the front of the rear fender with any up travel.

I know old vid... just a note for folk though..... yes people may want the tail housing you removed (myself being one). Lots of these 242 came with a different speedo set up that does not match their vehicle they are swapping the 242 into. Thus their are a few who need the tail housing; like one you removed, allowing them to keep their dash speedo setup instead of add on option of GPS speedo
