Used this guide to replace my heater core a few days ago. Would have taken 10 times longer without it. Only thing I did additionally was lower the steering column(4 bolts). Made pulling the dash and reinstalling a lot easier. Thanks Velocity Labs.

Bif F... Deal For years people have been adding Helper springs to actuators . Cheap Easy and EFFECTIVE PS Sucking on the actuators Vac line is an Effective test.

Can this type of wastegate be opened up to changw the spring or is it sealed?

This is an amazing step by step tutorial. Only 2 steps I’d add. 1-Loosen speedo CABLE from the trans and fish a little more wiggle room for the cable to remove the white lock tab behind the cluster. (My cable is making noise now). 2-Seperate the passenger side of the center dash support. This makes it easier to fish the dash in and out. Which the age of our cars, cracking is nearly inevitable. All in all, this wasn’t a terrible job. *THE AFTERMARKET HEATER CORE DIDNT SLIP IN THE HVAC BOX, I HAD TO DISSASEMBLE THE BOX AND FISH IT INTO BOTH HALVES. The replacement was shorter and more narrow, but it worked out well!

Great tutorial! My ‘68 Bug had the same issue. I scooped up the tap/die set and it worked as advertised. Although my car is simplistic at its best, this saved me a lot of time as opposed to a shaft replacement… Thx again!

Still haven't replaced the heater core since my last comment 2 years ago. Instead, I did the bypass and gave the interior a good cleaning where the coolant had leaked out which caused film to form on the glass due to evaporation. May attempt the core replacement when the weather is warmer but will watch this video several times and take notes prior to doing this job. Many thanks for posting this helpful tutorial! 🙂

It is much easier to cut out the firewall and move it forward. Then you have created a space to put the radiator (with two pull thru fans).
