For honor perfected melee combat in almost every way imaginable sadly Ubisoft ruined it by forcing the devs to make it pay to win.

I've always found that people who prefer this level of PvP tend to be in a minority. The most controversial systems in games like OSRS or Elden Ring tend to be the systems that combine PvE and PvP. In OSRS the developers are trying to find ways to draw people back in to the wilderness and most people just consider it dead content because they don't want to deal with the risk associated with the forced PvP. Luckily the game has so much non-PvP content, that it doesn't matter. Elden Ring is another one. A very vocal minority of people talk about how popular ER is because of it's invasion system, yet complained when Seamless COOP came out because it effectively killed invasions. Guess it wasn't that popular. I wish the developers the best, but I do think they're going to miss out on a lot of potential players by not having something like PvE servers that do not have open world PvP, but might still leave in the PvP events like caravans and what not.

So much development time for a game that'll be lucky to survive a few months before inevitably being reduced to a single server with a couple hundred players. The life cycle of a forced pvp MMO that isn't EVE or to a lesser extent Albion. It's been a month and T&L has already lost half it's player-base.

I've been playing the alpha to see what it's like. Didn't know the world was open PvP. Was grinding some low level commissions on a new character and some random person 3 levels above me walked up, killed me easily, took my stuff, and left. I messaged the Discord and found out that was in fact, intentional. So I logged out, uninstalled, and won't be touching it unless they have PvE servers.

No serious company would charge money to test an alpha version. I bet the high price is mainly to get KZbinrs to buy the game and people who are already very hyped and don't even realize what they are being promised and what is really there. I really wonder if people are incapable of comparing game developments.

What every content creator misses about this system is that no one will want to get corrupted or worse of all stay corrupted. In 99.99% of cases the preference would be that the non combatant would hit you back. Think of the risk outside starting zones before you have gear, you get corrupted for killing someone who was gathering, you got some wood for doing it. Now before you clear your corruption another player comes and kills you and you drop your weapon that took you weeks to get AND you drop the flipping wood you just got.

I mean, it looked like a "dungeon" they had to get through. Which means this isn't an open world boss. This looked like a raid boss. An open world boss is something that you can do with a few people and it spawn every few hours in the open world and takes a few mins to finish it. Like you are running from A to B and you should see along the way a random boss just being there. Open world bosses are not "zergy" because if it's a proper game then it spawns every 2-4 hours, you go there and you call some people to take it out. And then you go to the next one. The drops aren't unique. Raid bosses must have unique drops and the respawn time of a raid boss should be much wider and longer, so that removes the "zerg" option again. -if the game fails at any point, then it's not a good design. So.. No. This is a raid. Not an open world boss. If you have to do anything to get it to spawn, that's not an open world boss. But the game looks nothing special so far.. Looks just old. TL so far looks and does everything just better. And "we" don't like that. I don't know why are "we" think this one is better when we already have a f. ton of videos showing that it is just worse. EDIT: Not alpha. We are talking about a game right now. Their greed and their wording won't make it less. If they release a "full" game after they collected over $1k from every single idiot out there for "testing", the game is going to be the exact same sh.t that you see right here. And by then, it will be totally outdated. If they would release it right now, it would be kinda outdated but would work for a lot of people. If they release is 5 years from now which they gonna do to fully get into your pockets, this sh.t gonna be total trash.

An open world boss is a boss that's in the OPEN WORLD, it's just that simple. Adding all these qualifiers makes you sound like those people who try to claim that a game with less than 100 people in an instance is an mmo.

Which will doom the game, PvP cannot support a MMO
@kwoowoo828
@kwoowoo828 4 ай бұрын
@@dragonmares59110 I don't know. Eve Online is a PvP-focused MMO and it is still around after more than a decade. Though you can say they are never successful throughout these time. They are able to keep alive but not necessarily coming across as successful. However, PvP-focused design is THE easy-mode for any game developer unfortunately. For PvE live service game like an MMO, dev has to constantly develop new PvE content to satisfy player constantly. But for PvP, they only need to design a new map once in a while and then its done. Designing a new PvP map is easy compared to the huge amount of efforts involved in developing new PvE content, imagine if you further need to add in voice acting in your quest. If I see a huge focus on PvP as the main stay of an MMO, I know these dev are the lazy one (or the cannot-make-it kind). They are having an easy time compared to the other PvE focused MMO.

Ultimately the people that are truly interested in this game will play it when it comes out, but ONLY if the game itself is a good game. (Good combat, good game loops, no PTW). If people are in game having fun when it actually launches and Intrepid keeps that going with their player base all this current "Doomium" goes away.

That way they don't think the game is a scam since it came from GoFundMe. If that's the case that he actually lied to everyone it would look way worse than the key situation. since he has been a guy people have put their trust in. Honest I feel like they are already saying this. All this payed access to Alpha tested of a 8 year old game reeks of complete desperation. They already screaming that they are out of money and the project is on the brink of failure. Thing is this is lose-lose for the consumer. Either the studio has no more money to continue the project and they will be forced to cut more and more features until they can release something that resembles a game. Or its a scam and this just them milking last bit of FOMO until all interest is lost or they get exposed in one way or another. If this wasn't the case then they would hire a full team of internal testers, release the game to great success, and make all that money based on the product they created. The direct implication is they seeking to make money before the release because they anticipate they might not make it after they release it.

This game suffers from Star Citizen syndrome. Also, no matter how you want to re-define it, you are testing the game and PAYING for the privilege's to do so. That's the reality. Your stuff gets wiped. Its really anti-consumer practice. Its not even early access, its merely you get to run around on X days for a bit, then you get locked out of your account until they decide to release the game officially. In a world where people shouldn't pre-order until a full review comes out, I am shocked they asked for 120 dollars in a economy this bad to "try" a demo of their game and then improve on said feedback. They want your wallet and your time. Its BS really. If they value player feed back, open the game up to everyone and let everyone have a say, not just the few who can pay. But this is about money, and hoping MANY will pay based on hype alone. Anything else is cope.
