Hi! I was wondering if you could explain/demonstrate how to attach Medela hands free cups to the Pumpables Genie Advanced? I have heard this combination recommended for those of us who like higher suction, but haven’t been able to find anyone who can explain how to hack them together. Thank you so much!

Im a physician at a general medicine clinic I tried to prolong my maternity leave to 6 months but the administration denied my request Still, I only got back to my clinic two days a week I tried to express milk during work on the very first day i got back i told the nurses im gonna need some privacy in my office The moment i closed the door i got 3 patients knocking on the door and kept knocking and whenever someone asks where am i the nurses would say she is in her office So i stopped everything and opened the door and didn't pump that day The funny thing is that after few minutes they ordered breakfast and didn't tell me saying you had your breakfast break when you closed the door . I was shocked and didn't say anything 😅 (Im not blaming the nurses. It's just what happened to me) The next day the clinic was so busy that i didn't even have time to have breakfast So i stopped trying (My clinic is a family medicine clinic in which 99% of my patients are not urgent and they can wait 10 minutes but they don't. They simply keep knocking on the door until i open) My supply dropped to half and now i was forced to suppliment with formula I spend the days telling moms the importance of exclusively breastfeeding their babies when my own baby was denied that right 😢 Every time i make him a bottle i can't help but think that i somehow failed him as a mom

I am a 3rd year dental student with 6 month old baby… How will it effect my supply if I am unable to have the same pump schedule every day? Between class and clinic it is challenging to pump at the same time because every day is different

I pumped and breastfeed until I went back to work at 12 weeks. In doing this I basically tricked my body into believing I was feeding twins. I basically pumped every 3 hours around the clock until baby started sleeping through the night. Then I pumped every 3-4 hours during wake hours. I did this so I had a good supply going back to work. I was able to build up a stash big enough to stop pumping at 7 months and feed my baby until 14 months with breast milk

Can clogged milk ducts effect how much output my 4 week-old and pump gets?? Because lately I’ll pump for about 15-20 minutes, and the flow will slowdown or stop, so I take everything off. Then I hand express to make sure it’s all out and still get quite a bit… which isn’t a lot, like less than an ounce but more than a few drops. And even though baby gets little hiccups and has swallows while nursing, he still seems hungry even after 30-45 minutes. I’m pretty sure I’m clogged, more on the right than the left, bc usually my left breast gets significantly more, and when I hand express I mostly dribble rather than spray. Then I do feel little lumps in my breasts. One morning my right breast even felt painful. I don’t know why my baby isn’t fully emptying my breasts when he seems so hungry, maybe we need more practice with latching?? I’ll say sometimes it takes a handful of tries to get him latched especially after bottle feeding a few times. So annoying I don’t even mind the clogs as much I just wish my baby was getting everything he needs so I didn’t feel the need to pump or go to formula as much as I do ): Especially because I know I’m making milk! So frustrating. And no I’ve never had an issue with oversupply. I’ve never pumped more than 3 or 4 ounces in one breast and even that has only happened like once in a day, NOT after nursing.

Btw I know was able to spray when hand expressing but lately it’s been more of a dribble. Haqaa and Epsom salt + warm compress kinda help but I don’t think it’s fully unclogging.

As an Elementary school teacher I feel these same challenges. I was thinking of using: Wearable: Momcozy Mobile M6. Milk catcher w/ suction: Boon Trove. Then when I get home to do Spectra 1.
@NewLittleLife
@NewLittleLife Күн бұрын
Very similar issues for teachers, yes. The boon troove isn’t going to well empty your breast, probably not a good idea during work hours. A wearable pump makes sense, have you tried it? Does it empty your breast well? They don’t always do a great job but if it works well for you it can be a nice option!

@@NewLittleLife I haven't tried yet. I had read that the Boon Trove would be similar to the hakka which my neighbor said worked better than her regular pump. I heard the Momcozy Mobile M6 is better than the M5 but doesn't have the vibrations that Spectra has. I figured some type of pump would be better than being unable to pump. Having a hard time identifying the best wearable pump due to their issues with fully emptying.

I'm a radiologist so thankfully I can pump while writing reports on the computer. When on-call I don't have time to stop working for a pumping break (not to mention food break). I have to use a wearable because I sit with my colleagues and other doctors are always coming in for consults so no privacy. It's less efficient for sure to use the wearable for 26 hours but thankfully I have a good supply and a big stock in the freezer

Does capacity change over time? With our first I had to pump every 2 hours and barely had enough at the end. At first I had an oversupply, but I got pregnant and my supply tanked. I ended up miscarrying, but it never came back. This time I'm exclusively breastfeeding and pumping every 6 hours. My nighttime pump is around 12 ounces. 5-7 on each side. Going back to work part time seems to have messed with my supply. I'm terrified it will drop again. I currently have over 1,309 ounces in the deep freezer, but worry my baby won't be able to continue breastfeeding if my supply is less. I'm working on finding local families in need. I really want to have a full freezer of newer milk at 6 months when my supply tanked last time.

It can change pregnancy to pregnancy a bit, but sometimes it’s difficult to know what is low supply vs low storage capacity. Sometimes it doesn’t really matter which is which, as they have similar recommendations for solution. Does that make sense?

I have no idea if I’m pumping correctly or efficiently. I have to exclusively pump in order to feed my baby. After pumping I don’t always feel like my breasts are fully emptied. I usually have to manually get the rest out whatever sprays/drops I can get. Sometimes half an ox to an oz more (combined) I use a 15mm flange. I would love to not have to pump so much. I always do 30mins. So it’s 3-4hrs of everyday My baby is 4 almost 5m. I’m 21 weeks pp My pump is Philips avent and I also use a momcozy M5 Would love some help troubleshooting to maximize my output.

What are your thoughts when comparing to the fit with the 6 oz containers. I got so much better output with my 4 oz containers vs 6. It's like the 6 oz pushes up in my bra and moves more. Is this similar to the 6 oz fit. They no longer make the 4 oz containers

My baby is 4m. 20 weeks PP I have average storage capacity, my morning pump is 7oz combined. I’ve been trying to work on getting my supply up cause I’m slightly under 20oz and I really am trying to increase it another 5+ oz I pump between 5-6x a day for 30mins. I always do at least one power pump. I’ve been trying to get 7 but I don’t always reach that goal. I wanna get up earlier but I just haven’t been able I need help/advice something. This is my second baby but I have no idea what I’m doing anymore. I wasn’t able to breastfeed or pump with my first. I’ve basically been combo feeding, supplementing formula when needed cause baby has to eat and gain weight of course. So if I only get 2oz I have to add another 2 oz of formula of baby is hungry before I can get another pump in.

However this third letdown never happens if i pump less than 3 hours apart. I had that problem of having raw nipples and everything touching them hurting. I realised that it was because my nipples were rubbing the flange after a few minutes of pumping, because my nipples end up filling all the space after a while, regardless of the flange size. I fixed it by covering them with a tiny drop of oil, and never had raw nipples again :)

@NewLittleLife
@NewLittleLife 10 күн бұрын
It’s a lot of experimentation! The stimulation mode is set so just find the maximum comfortable suction. In stimulation mode, start the cycles in the middle and just up or down to see what works best. No pressure there, they’ll all likely work fine! Use the highest suction that is COMFORTABLE, not the highest you can tolerate. See what gives you the best milk flow in the shortest time! Good luck 💙

I'm 4 months PP, doing combo feeding and trying to have a stash. I have a Zomee and started using it right away. I struggled with being tethered to the pump, with flange sizes, and with less output. 2 months PP I bought a Momcozy wearable for about $120 and I've had a much better experience. I can wear them while I do other things, I now know my flange size, and my output went from 1oz to 2oz per 20 min session, with at least 2 hours in between sessions. I have a small stash, about a weeks worth. And now I've decided to only pump when I need to and I will work on my stash a few weeks before going back to work. I like that I have both pumps but the Zomee is in the box and will remain there unless it's an emergency.
