That is so adorable!! I have a 42 year old umbrella named Pebbles. She is definitely my birb, but she does this same thing with my 10 year old. He is so good with her and she just clicks away happily while he loves on her. Such precious moments. EDIT to ADD: Umbrellas have yellow under their wings, tails and crests.

Yes, they do understand what words can mean, and they do not merely mimic sounds. The bird who sees am empty plastic bag being wafted by the wind, pasr his house, does indeed say "There's a dead bag out there!" He knows it is an empty bag, hence the "dead bag" and he also understands "outside" and what it means as opposed to inside. Birds are extremely intelligent. My friend's African Grey parrots are mind bendingly smart. Scary even, with the knowledge that they hold. There is a reason that Gos designed them to live for so many years I believe.

@@vex8ion196 yes it is without a doubt inevitable. This is unfortunately why so many adopt a large bird and then rehome very shortly afterwards. They either did not do their research or simply couldn’t handle the yelling and screaming. It’s what cockatoos do 🤷🏼♀️ birds in general are noisy but almost all cockatoos are EXTRA noisy lol. They are not easy to care for either because they cannot live in cages and need an extensive amount of outdoor time and stimulation and a very wide variety diet to be happy and healthy. Not to mention very expensive vet bills because they are considered an exotic animal at checkin. However, despite all of that!!! If one does have the time to educate themselves on birds, the patience, understanding, time, resources, funds and love etc to adopt a bird that needs a forever home and will give them all they need, then it would be amazing for the bird and the owner. They will become a life long family member. 💜. Gotcha is family💜💜
