Gotchas flying capability just shows how important to have doors closed or birds in the cages when doors gets opened. When they get scared they can fly a long way.

My Lovey has her wings clipped. She can only fly about 30 - 40 feet, even when she is spooked. Ever since that flight, I have used a harness.

I went to see a buddy last night, didn't get home until after the birdy was in bed. Boy did he make me pay for it today. Demanded 15 minutes this morning to hand feed him, and 25 minutes tonight as he was preparing for bed. His name is Patrick, and he's a 24 year old male cockateil (non banded - the last of the birds my wife hatched long before I met her).

My Quaker follows me everywhere. One time I went to the bathroom and of course he came with me. I went to put him down on the bathroom counter and he went running back up my arm. This happened maybe a handful of times and was wondering why he kept doing it. Then I realized that it was probably the new hairbrush I had just bought. It's weird, though, because I had gotten a couple new hairbrushes before then and he never reacted to them. The only thing I can think of is it was because this one was red and the other ones were black or dark blue.
