OK so i visited Istanbul for the Christmas period and was "Ripped off", with my Istanbul Card. We purchased our cards at the airport and went to the trains . On the way there we were confronted by two guys who asked if we had activated our cards. We had no idea what they were talking about but obviously we said no. They said they would help us activate them and it only cost a few lire. We had no idea how they did it but somehow swapped our cards with thier own and loaded money onto thier card useing our credit cards. Of course we said thank you and went on our way. At home we checked our credit cards account and realised they had transfered money to thier account through the use of thier istanbul Card. Please be aware if you are confronted at these card machines by people who want to "HelpYou". PLEASE inform your people of this scam.

4:22 You do need to buy for each person if you’re going to use it in the long run because lines like the Marmaray and the M11 Metro lines charge you around 16₺ per tap (back in 2022) but if you only travelled a few stops, then you can get a discount tap in a marked stop. If you tap it for 2+ people, it will only give the discount once. Hope this helps! 😊

Guys I simply loved this vlog. I have used both options. And I must say that you guys are absolutely thorough. Private taxis are faster and more convenient with all the luggage and bags etc but more expensive. And metro is obviously much cheaper but inconvenient specially if you have luggage. Keep it up 👍

did you hire a guide ? How you manage to go through hiking track? Google map or some app or maps ?

Hi there! We did not hire a guide… we parked our car at a restaurant and let them know we would be back the next day… the trail was pretty easy to follow. We usually either use maps.me or the windy maps app because you can download them offline. Windy maps also has topography. You can also probably find the trail on all trails… I hope this helps! 😁

I will be going to Istanbul soon with a group.. so only 1 card should be enough gor 4 people. How does the card know we are a group? Do I have to manually put how many people will travel, or I will have to pass the card for the next person to check in again?

You just need to pass the card back to the next person to tap on… we have heard it will stop allowing you to tap on after 5 people in a row but we have not confirmed that…

Absolutely! Our Turkey guide has a full section on Cappadocia including a breakdown of the different areas to stay, hotel recommendations, hiking maps, sunset and sunrise spots, and even a list of the top balloon companies with contact info 😂!

The last time we purchased a pass like that you could use it for more than one person but you have to make sure you get the right one 😁!

Still low prices. Travelling in 2024, from Antalya on a hired scooter, did two trips, total 2,700 kms. As a travelling Brit, I think it is less than half price of visiting Europe. With it's climate, landscape, history and lovely people, it is truly a special country. Visiting Istanbul this week, thanks for the helpful video's. P.S. You two make a wonderful couple.

Just an advice, visit the Grand Bazaar and the spice bazaar do not shop because the price of everything is 3-4 times the normal price, do your shopping from the shops outside.
