I don't believe that Beresford just made the plans to invade on the move. When the British arrived in Buenos Aires all of the Aristocracy there was waiting with open arms. The marched from Ensenada to Buenos Aires and where housed in Patrician homes. It was Liniers a Frenchman the gauchos and the Afros who resisted. That was not on the British or Spanish Patrician Plans.

For those arguing Simplified History is only about joke delivery, you are overlooking how learning actually works. Most persons naive to history will subconsciously absorb errors as facts. Look how History Channel went from educational to crappola and how most sci-fi and history movies impart misunderstanding. I agree with the content creator that accuracy matters, even when entertainment is the goal. The Columbus video could easily have gotten it right, had they cared. As for the Viking game, I as a Swede, find it to be megacringe.

Argentinians should be the greatest Anglophiles of South America, and a lot of people there still admire the UK and wish that sometime in the past they had joined the Empire so that today they would be like Canada or Australia. UK and Argentina were extremely close allies up to about the 1930s, towards the end of this time, fascist Argentine politicians started to take over, and this is when Argentina was very close to going the other way, and joining the Axis, and in 1946 they voted in the fascist, General Peron. For example: to look at the Argentine Army of the time, was to look at the Wehrmacht. Argentina bet on the wrong horse and even after 1945 they carried on down that road. These other Argentinians, the Anglophobes, have absorbed the fascist propaganda of the education system which starts at 6 and 7 years old and tries to turn Argentine history into a constant conflict, in which Argentina has been trying to fend off the UK, from conquering it. This was done in this way by Peron and has remained like this since the 1940s. The idea is to make all Argentinians the same so that they are easier to govern, as per fascist theories which also try to unite the people inside against an enemy outside. In order to achieve this version of history, the fascists distort the facts profoundly, not only the complete history of the Falklands (goes without saying) but everything else. They describe the “English Invasions” not as an attack on Spanish power during the Napoleonic wars (1806-1807) during the years before Argentina existed. The fascists try to paint this action as an attack against Argentina itself (which didn’t even exist at the time of those attacks). The Spanish renegades, 3 or 4 years after that intervention by the UK, deposed the Spanish Viceroy in a revolution and the renegades claimed to be the ones loyal to the deposed Spanish Bourbons in 1810 and were using the Bourbon colours blue and white, in order to prove this. During this movement they executed the hero of the resistance against the earlier British action, which was a Frenchman called Liniers. In the made up Argentine history, these “Argentinians” claimed the credit for the victory and trophies of Liniers and the Spanish arms as if they had been Argentine trophies. Another good one was “Vuelta de Obligado”: the French and British tried to break the monopoly of Buenos Aires over the commerce of Paraguay and the interior provinces which were separate from Buenos Aires. The British and French sent war ships up river escorting commerce ships to the interior ports, and the Argentinians of today make a big meal of this and distort all the facts - no country was trying to claim sovereignty from Argentina, they were simply trying not to pay taxes to the Buenos Aires monopoly over commerce at the start of the river, right by the sea, the European powers were supporting freedom of navigation in order to assist all the interior of Argentina which Buenos Aires was trying to dominate and to fleece. So the Argentinians who absorb all this fabricated fascist history obviously have nothing but suspicions about the UK and are very anti-UK and anti-USA, they are fascists, Mussolini style, this is the work of General Peron who studied in Mussolini’s Italy. The “nationalist Argentinians” sort of characterise themselves for thinking that they are the ones who are “aware”, “clever”, they know it is “them” and “they” are everywhere, a power never to be defeated, a “world conspiracy” against Argentina, and this they read in to everything that goes on, a sort of paranoia if you like. So there you have the two extremes from the British point of view.

Hey brother! It's a pity to see you have lost motivation in making videos on this topic, it is very rare to see anglophone videos on the Spanish perspective of the Age of Sail! There's a lot of British misinformation and exaggeration of their naval prowess that few are working to correct. I understand that it takes a lot of work to research and animate the history of wars, but perhaps doing just individual battles might be easier to handle, and perhaps get you more exposure with time. Some examples of major Spanish victories could be the Battle of the Gulf of Cadiz (1596), Action of 9 August 1780, or the Battle of Cartagena de Indias (1741), or the Battle of Pensacola (1781) where Spain retook Florida. Or perhaps you could mention how during the Battle of Trafalgar Spain only lost 10 ships and had the Santísima Trinidad, the largest Ship of the Line in history, mostly taken down by the incompetence of the French Admiral. Wish you best of luck, man. Don't give up! We need people like you to be our myth buster! Popularity will come with time, I'm certain.

Respectfully I could only tolerate 1 minute of this. It sounds like you’re desperately holding in a shit because you’re on a tight schedule. Not saying it’s the worst thing ever, but combined with the uncomfortable amount of bias against the British just makes it an awkward watch… feels like listening to a constipated James Madison. Idk if you’ve ever played Fallout, but you really sound similar to the Ghouls, especially that guy in “Come Fly With Me” in New Vegas. Not trying to hate, you’re a small channel and have potential. But you can’t claim that these things are “overlooked” or “neglected” while portraying everything on par with North Korean history lessons. I mean you literally have an evil giggle whenever the British invaders are mentioned. It’s like watching an Israeli talk about the history of Palestine…

@Negcleted Histories - You presented quite ok, only you were wrong. The first standard vehicle that could use the acceleration, brake, steering system, seat for the driver - possibly also the passenger - was Karl Benz (Germany) and not the person presented by you. That person from Flanders (the old name of Bergia) was just a prototype. Why only a prototype? He had no control of the acceleration, the brake. Only the direction and a rudimentary one. Later, the French made an engine whose fuel was steam and it didn't have the standard brakes that we know today, it only had a slightly more developed direction and only one seat for the driver. This French-made steam vehicle carried a cannon, which means it was a military vehicle. In Germany a little later, the first modern vehicle was made: engine with flammable liquid, modernized and controllable steering, brake and acceleration - it was Karl Benz's car. Officially, the first standard car was produced in Germany. Ferdinand Verbiest had not heard of acceleration and braking, only of steering control and a simple and rudimentary, prototype engine. A prototype cannot be considered the official version of a car.
