I can barely wait until September to make these! My A/C system is great, but it’s still too hot in Florida right now. Love how you cut in the cold butter, and I was taught to do this by using cold hands (pastry cutter is nice) when making any biscuits and not to over mix! Thank you for the video!

Absolutely, similar to any other biscuits. As far as freezing, I would par bake them before freezing . Enjoy the holiday season

What happens if we melt the butter along with the buttermilk when we add to the flour versus it being cold?
@Foodieengineer2 жыл бұрын
It will change the consistency of the biscuit, it will be more dense vs light and fluffy

@@Foodieengineer ok...I get it..I have always melted the butter and also added OLD BAY SEASONING to my mixture (it takes it to a whole other level)...I'll have to try it the cold way..I just don't have anything to grind the hard cold butter stick into the flour with

Just made 50 of these biscuts yesterday, after making one box of the store bought recipe ( they were so bad I had to throw them away, I couldn't fix them, too many preservatives in it ) I took the 50 buscuts to a crawfish boil yesterday and they were all gone in 10 minutes. Excellent recipe. The only change I made was doubling the garlic in it, but I had to I'm Italian. I did kneed in the the butter cubes by hand to about pea size pieces . Thank you so much , I have been looking for the perfect roll or biscut to go with my Creamy Chicken Ravioli soup, and now I have it.

Baking soda should work just fine because of the buttermilk. Also you can make a buttermilk replacement with milk and vinegar.

These biscuits came out absolutely AMAZING! They were light and fluffy with just the right amount of cheese. I altered the recipe ever so slightly by adding a fourth of a teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning, but I’m sure these would taste just as good without it. These were super fast and delicious, 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend!

@@Foodieengineer I don't post my cooking on my channel. That is just random stuff posted. Mostly I just put recipes on FB sometimes. But if you would like one of my originals that is simple and has been a favorite any time I make it for people I make a mean Honey and Rum Chicken Burger. I take 2.5 lbs. of chicken breasts trim the fat off them then I use a meat tenderizer to make the thickness uniform it also helps with soaking in the marinade. Next with the chicken in a bowl I coat the chicken in Montreal Chicken Seasoning and mix the chicken and seasoning together. In another bowl I add honey and black rum together (I use Kraken but any will work.) You do not need to add much Rum just enough to lighten up the thickness of the honey. Pour it over the chicken and mix them together. Cover and put in the refrigerator for a day. Cook on the grill the next and I like to serve it on a brioche bun with any thing you want top it off with. I will have this one in my cook book. If you wish to use it in a video feel free. Just please let me know when you post it.
