Hello there - I have a little bit of an issue and wanted to know if you could help me. I have the same setup lab you have in the video and using the same commands as you on eve-ng with this image version Model: vqfx-10000 Junos: 20.3R1.8 limited. and also this version Junos: 18.1R3-S5.3 limited but for some weird reason when I issue the command show interface terse I don't see the xe-0/0/x interfaces showing up

Hi, is there any LAB to create VRRP for each VLAN using irb interfaces. you can use one EDGE switch connect to two upstream. VRRP can be possible on Switch ? Thank you
@lameaveragetechies10403 ай бұрын
We havent done a lab on it but yeah, that's exactly how you would do it. Extend the vlan between the switches so you have an incomplete triangle to prevent a loop, but with working VRRP using IRB interfaces.

Whats the alternative to redistribute connected in vrf in cisco. I have a similar config but no pe-ce protocol just connected interfaces and they don’t get advertised
@lameaveragetechies10405 ай бұрын
Ot will be from protocol direct. That will include all UP interfaces and their networks.

Why are we having a 1g interface pointing to a 10g interface ? Working in an ISP I have never seen it set up like that as you would be physically limiting the link on the 1g side.
@lameaveragetechies10405 ай бұрын
This is in a virtual lab, where those are the only interfaces available. This is not representative of the interfaces you'll use in the real world and is not of importance in this tutorial. The main focus should be the config.

Most confusing part is how do I know what policy is applied to BGP or routes
@lameaveragetechies10405 ай бұрын
Once you configure a policy statement under policy options, you have to specify it as an import or export policy under the protocol configuration. For example, if I create a policy to export static routes, I then go into my BGP config, under the neighbour you can then set it as export and specify the policy name. That will export those routes to that BGP neighbour.

@@lameaveragetechies1040 thanks is there a command to check if a policy or filter is applied to a specific route

Can we configure multiple irb interfaces in Junos?
@lameaveragetechies10406 ай бұрын
Yeah, you can configure up to 4095 IRB interfaces on most Junos devices
@beloch64557 ай бұрын
Hi, I made the same topology as you just with no firewalls, only VMX devices. I configured everything, have the same show | display set results, I have OSPF connection between DCs and their loopback, I set ip addresses on PCs but the ping between them doesn't work. Do you have any suggestions for how to resolve this? And on "show bridge mac-table" I have only the local PC MAC address. Is there some pre-configuration I might have missed or something?

Yeah, you can indeed. It's similar to EVE where you use virtual routers and would work just as well.

Fantastic content! I’ve subscribed. Clear, concise and to the point. Best content is like this in my opinion. I’ve not used JUNOS since version 12, So the IRB configuration was confusing me. The books I have show it for a different purpose and I was using VLANS with the inet configuration on. That means previous configs didn’t work, so thanks.

After following this procedure, I'm getting an error while committing i.e., 'l3-interface vlan.10' "Interface must already be defined under {edit interfaces]" Please help me with this. I'm using the EX3300 switch. Could you tell me what I'm doing wrong?
@lameaveragetechies104011 ай бұрын
If you specify vlan.10 as the interface under vlans then you need to configure an interface vlan.10 under edit interfaces as well. The EX3300 uses IRB interfaces as well so just make everything irb.10 instead of vlan.10 and it should work.
