For anyone who isn't familiar with MVP, the plastics do generally make a pretty noticeable difference. Their plastics from least to most overstable are generally Electron, Fission, Neutron, anf then Eclipse/Proton are the most overstable. It makes a bigger difference in some molds than other. For example, alot of people (myself included) bag both a Fission and Eclipse Reactor, cause they fill totally different spots.

Tangent was GODLY for beginners and when I first started was my favorite disc for about a year then my swing got better and the disc got beat in and was undetectable for me and I ended up leaving it for a proxy

I have a Piwakawaka in the glow plastic from RPM. It charges fast and very bright, but discharges quickly as well. Eclipse 2.0 is the best glow that I've used so far.

So the first disc I was given when I first started was an axis and I love it. Would love for them to bring it back but it's just a hex now. So I guess it's fine

Not sure. Try cleaning the lenses on the front to make sure nothing is blocking the laser. Other than that, it could be a glitch.

Great detailed video. I watched this when it was released. I’ve been trying to like a hex for a long time and it just wasn’t working for me a tad too stable for my arm speed and style. You talked about the ECHO and I am sold on this disc. I’ve been trying for three years to fill that spot and I credit your video for finally finding the correct disc. Thank you for all of your hard work, you are a treasure to the disc golf community.

Interesting video, and appreciate the depth of the video! Would be interesting to see this test after the discs had some use. Perhaps adding the durability variable would sit the plastics in a predictable order, because in reality we are not throwing brand new discs each round. Obviously this is hard to test, because how do you wear each disc to the same level? But if we could add durability to the test by adding some wear, we would compare the plastics as most players will see them.

What about Fission plastic? Yes I get it’s lighter but what if I bought a 175G fission HEX where would that line up in stability? Does anybody have an answer?
@DiscGolfDownUnder
@DiscGolfDownUnder 2 ай бұрын
My experience with Fission is that it beats in faster than Neutron or Proton. Max weight usually starts out more overstable but quickly evolves to something more flippy.

Fantastic review - I watched it all the way through a couple of times - thank you for making this. I don't have a Hex (yet), but I agree that the Envy and Crave are must haves. I also think the Reactor and Pyro are fantastic. I bag all 4 and they all see use.

I have 4 pilots in electron plastic and one in eclipse. I also have a Neutron Ohm, Watt, and a couple glitches. To me the glitches and Watt are very similar. Watt is great! Ohm is slightly more torque resistant than the Watt. Pilot and Ohm are basically the same disc to me. Plus electron pilots are so cheap!

The speed of the Resistor is 6.5 not 6 and the Rim width is 16.5mm not 17mm. The speed and Rim width at MVP Fairway and Distance Drivers correlate directly to each other. Speed + 10 = Rim width in mm Also for the other discs. Where did you get your numbers from?
@DiscGolfDownUnder
@DiscGolfDownUnder 4 ай бұрын
I use the numbers from PDGA certification.
@Gh0stShell
@Gh0stShell 4 ай бұрын
@@DiscGolfDownUnder Interesting. I think it's because the PDGA only gives numbers in cm and not in mm and they proably don't want to show more than 1 decimal number. In the future it would be probably more accurate to look the numbers up directly at the manufacturer. Also I didn't found flight numbers from the PDGA. So where did you get these from?

Started my journey thinking about getting a Fireball and a Raptor. After research, including this video, I’m looking for a Terra and a Resistor. Question: For forehand shots, does disc weight matter?
@DiscGolfDownUnder
@DiscGolfDownUnder 4 ай бұрын
Heavier discs will generally be more overstable and more resistant to off-axis torque. So I'd recommend max weight discs for forehand but don't neglect the lighter discs either.

Hope MVP is paying ur butt for all this real world research lol. My issue with premium plastic putters (non-MVP but in general) is that even if it starts out nice and gummy if it has ANY sheen to it eventually it turns to slickness and actually is harder to hold on to (noticed this with Kastaplast plastics).
