Hi there! yes you can. In unreal, you can just paint weight on the hair and let the hair physics do the work for you :) I believe unreal has good hair system built in by default and also you can use plugin like Kawaii physics to simplify the workflow.

@@tomcreektomoyaogawa4358 You know any good resources for that? Most tutorials I found where using Maya or other expensive third party software unfortunately .. it's really hard to find a tutorial on making a character in blender and rigging + animating it in unreal... All tutorials that were doing it with blender modles, were dodging hair, by just making short hair characters in blender (therefor they didn't have to show how to implement the hair in UE) or had chars with hats, helmets etc.

Hi Tom, thanks for the video 😃 I have a question regarding hair bake. How would you compare textures baked in blender using hair tool,and the ones baked in fibershop? I'm thinking about buying FS but I'm not sure if it makes that much of a difference? Cheers
@tomcreektomoyaogawa4358
@tomcreektomoyaogawa4358 2 ай бұрын
Hi there! I'm sure you can make good hair texture using hair tool addon but Fibershop is so much more powerful and flexible tool to use. You can make hair texture either procedurally, manually, or both at the same time. This really makes the hair texture production process easy and fast and you can create basically any type of texture you need efficiently. And moreover, you can apply modifiers at baking stage, and it allows you to customize hair texture in any way you desire(eg. colour,Ao,SSS...). So yeah, if you are character artist and need to make lots of hair textures, then maybe it's good idea to purchase Fibershop. It has very affordable perpetual license so if you like what you see in their official Fibershop videos, then just go for it.

Hi there! yeah, hair tool has gotten bit harder to learn and use after big hair tool update. Because of that, I have implemented new hair creation workflow myself and as a result, I don't use it as much. And unfortunately , there are not as many resources to learn from as it used to be. so if you are struggling to understand how to use this tool, I would recommend you to join hair tool discord sever. There are many talented people there so you can ask question to get help. second option is to downgrade the hair tool version (version before big update) . this is inconvenient but at least it will work and you can follow most of hair tool tutorial videos.

@tomcreektomoyaogawa4358

@@Vduke735 Yes, you can do that without addon but, it is so frustrating to use for sure. curves in blender tend to spin around uncontrollably and makes it harder to place hair cards precisely and besides it takes more time and effort to set things up. Z brush 2023 can uv by creased edge so u can crease by angle and UV then uncrease all once the uv are ready. Or a way more optimal can be create the IMM brush with the creased edge already settled then once u finish the hair click uv by creased edge.

If u want to create an already creased Mesh just watch a regular tut about how to create your own IMM brush then u can set the creased edges there and once is done unwrap it using the previous method from the video.
