I hate EM. Can’t convince me that entire specialty can’t and won’t be replaced by nurses. Really great at calling other doctors to report symptoms. You can get by without knowing much. Just shotgun every test and scan then call the relevant specialist according to the positive results

I have very high respect for doctors like cardiothoracic surgeons, but I’m sorry, a psychiatrist who moves into big pharma? If you knew of the tremendous harm these people cause you would realise how yuck this interview is.

“It seemed really nice to be able to have someone in front of you and potentially fix them.” What a mindset; To be grateful to have the opportunity to serve and realize the impact it has on someone’s life. Thank you, Doc! May Allah bless you.

Yikes. I don't like elitism and I cringed at some of the discussion around schools and the very direct question whether it was worthwhile attending a second tier school. Like the father, I attended a Russell Group university (English version of Ivy League). The university has retained its legal name University of Geographical Location, but colloquially known as Geo Location University. Big difference... It sounds like the father did not employ behavioural based interviewing which can decrease hiring poor/unethical/ performers. Knowing the son has quit medicine, hearing this interview makes one wonder if he was preparing to leave at the time of recording.

Here is my PROBLEM. Surgeons are trained to CUT. They are Carpenters of the Medical World- and they can be amazing at that skill. It is a big stretch however when they come on and try to give lifestyle advice. They probably sat for about 4 hours of Nutrition education. Many Cardio MD's I know are not fit themselves. This country clearly needs to focus on prevention and not just treatment. There is no money in that however so healthcare industrial complex works in concert with fast food, processed food, etc., to make us sick very intentionally. Then they profit massively off of pretending to care- to treat us for ungodly amounts of money. This should be a crime. It's literally like the Devil saying, let me help you with that. Soulless. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3ikqKSpl82jhqcsi=nMO9P3U81IcVTqYo&t=45 My friend owned McDonalds. He was heavily incentivized to sell burgers, fries and shakes and huge sodas. He made 500% profit on those items. On healthier things like salads and water, etc., he lost money. It is all intentional. It's also the system. Ironically many doctors like to think they are helping people. Some do, in acute cases but it never had to get to that point. The really smart Docs know what is going on. NO effort is made towards prevention. They blame the people and their choices and lifestyle but ignore that the cards are stacked against them in the US and they are massively profiting from the evil system. I am wrong you say? Ok, then why does JAPAN have the lowest rate of Heart Disease? It is because of their system. They are not very intentionally being made sick with every meal. Same with France, S. Korea, Hong-Kong. Stats don't lie.

This was such a good channel, and I watched many videos from it - and loved them. The Jefferson faculties and residents were so high caliber and generous with their time. Unfortunately, the residency program ruined it all.

Finally got around to checking this channel. These tips were riveting! I definitely believe people need to put more effort into developing a stronger sense of self… a lot of these other issues wouldn’t manifest if a person put more energy into their personal development.

Ohhh my goodness!!!! This podcast is such a gem. Being there on my watch later list for almost a year, now I feel so so happy that I actually watched it. Such a perfect talk it is. Dr. Okusanya is truly an inspiration. Applying this year for general surgery residency and been in an academic institute doing a clinical rotation, the things I felt is what he spoke with such a great compassion. He's journey to self-actualization is really really great. A perfect podcast. I did not even notice how quickly I was at the end of the podcast. Thank you Zach for bringing this out for us.
