How is 3rd and 4th oassenger sails free a good deal? Theres no eay in hell i'd sail with 4 oeople in 1 cabin. I dont have kids, am i supposed to find 2 other adults who want to sleep on the fofa and a pull down bed???
@cruisingwithkristieКүн бұрын
You are right. 3/4 passenger is really only for people sailing with their children that they don’t mind having in the same cabin with them or maybe college kids that want a fun get away and don’t mind sharing. But that isn’t everyone.

Have you been to Alaska in May? You didn’t mention any thermals to wear under your jeans. What about gloves? Special sunglasses? Thanks!
@cruisingwithkristieКүн бұрын
Hi Claudia, I sailed in July both times, but I am sailing this May and plan to pack much differently. I always bring gloves and sunglasses, but I am adding to my packing list a waterproof poncho, waterproof pants, fleece lined pants, thermals, and alpaca socks. Plus those cool hand warmers. Can you think of anything else that I missed? It sounds like your are an old hand at colder weather. ❄️🛳️. Thanks for watching and commening!
@claudiayoung857122 сағат бұрын
lol, no, I’m from California (less than an hour from the fires)and have just been to the snow when skiing, although we did ski in Canada once and it was below 0!! Totally insane for sure. I hadn’t thought of hand warmers but that would be a good thing to bring! I’ve already purchased my water resistant pants and flannel lined jeans!! What cruise ship are you traveling on? We’re doing a 12-day trip, the first 5 are on land and the last 7 will be on HAL. I always travel with sunglasses but I keep hearing that you should get polarized sunglasses.
@cruisingwithkristie22 сағат бұрын
I am also from Southern California, so cold weather is not our day to day. I’d say unless you plan on going on a glacier, any sunglasses will do. If you haven’t booked your Ketchikan excursion yet, I recommend the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman. It was great. alaskacrabtour.com. And, we are on a 7 day round trip this year on Celebrity. Your 12 day sounds ideal with 5 days on land. Last year we did 3 with Princess and it was too fast.

Can you explain the mini bar part again? Are you saying to ask the staff to empty the mini bar the first day of arrival otherwise you are charged an additional mini bar gratuity, or to have them empty it so you aren't tempted to consume anything which would THEN incur a gratuity charge? (Or some other interpretation?)
@cruisingwithkristie2 күн бұрын
Yes. You ask to have them empty the mini bar to avoid temptation, the price of the item, AND the gratuity on the item.

I drink a lot. I love and appreciate great food. I am a heavy wifi user. Seems like a pretty easy decision. The only thing that sucks is that the Plus package only gives you 2 casual dining slots, regardless of cruise length. I am planning a repositioning cruise so that isn’t great, as the itinerary will be ~25-30 days.
@cruisingwithkristie2 күн бұрын
The Princess Plus package includes two casual dining meals per guest for voyages up to 10 days, with an additional two meals added for each additional 10 days of sailing. For a 30-day cruise, you would receive: • 6 casual dining meals per guest (2 meals for the first 10 days + 2 meals for the second 10 days + 2 meals for the final 10 days). These meals can be used at specialty casual dining venues like Alfredo’s Pizzeria, The Salty Dog Grill, or O’Malleyd. Be sure to confirm with Princess Cruises to see which venues qualify on your specific itinerary!

@cruisingwithkristie Oh wow, thanks. Either that changed or I misunderstood. Thanks for the info either way!

Someone asked below and you replied you're not sure which one you'll choose next Princess cruise you take. To point out as you mentioned, you and your husband have to choose (1) same level Plus or Premier but it must be the same (1) level.That's a toss up for you. Either way. If you both get Plus, then you'll fall "short" of the best level for your needs. Otherwise, if you both choose Premier, then he will waste his actual package needs/use. That's a bummer they don't let you each choose a package that best suits your needs; since you are both paying for a package.
@cruisingwithkristie2 күн бұрын
My current understanding is that one person can choose princess plus and the other princess premier if you are in the same cabin. The only problem is that if you both want to eat in a specialty restaurant then you will have to pay for the princess plus passenger.

Arrive in your Port city the day PRIOR to the cruise embarkation...just do it... the one piece of advice that you absolutely should do. Back in Feb 2024, we arrived at the Port in L.A. the weekend of the atmospheric river event...the day prior, so we were fine with wiggle room for flight delays... Our first port of call, days later...the ship had to let on, 3 couples, who missed getting onboard the day the ship left because their flight got cancelled that morning... due to weather, and missed embarkation all together!

We cruise on Princess to Alaska 2 years ago after waiting 3 years due to Covid. We left from San Francisco, love it. We are getting ready to leave from San Francisco to Hawaii for a 16 days cruise on Princess. We have booked our cruises through AAA which I highly recommend because we have gotten extra cash to use on our excursions ( veterans get extra cash) . We do get the insurance because we heard of to many people having some medical issues. We booked this trip last year so it gave us to pay payments on it.

I prefer the smaller portion sizes Princess serves in the dining rooms. There is plenty of food between the appetizer and the main. That leaves room for the little dessert, and you don’t have to feel like you’re over stuffed when leaving the table.

Hi Kristie. Great video! We’re taking my in-laws to Alaska from Vancouver in June 2025. One of the things you mentioned in the video was to have our documents in our carry on bag. You mentioned Passports and then, almost as an aside, you said, “not passport cards.” I was going to recommend passport cards for my in-laws since the likelihood of them traveling again would be minimal. Should I not do that and just get them books??? My wife and I are really enjoying your videos. Thanks for the content! Steve
@cruisingwithkristie28 күн бұрын
Hi Steve. Passport cards DO NOT work for international flights. I am not a fan of passport cards for this limitation. Let’s hope your cruise might entice them to cruise more and they will need it. 😊

Thank you. Depending upon when you book and when you sail, you can get a better price. We booked a year ahead for May and with an inside cabin, it was a pretty good deal.
