It's been a few decades since I've read these books, but didn't all of the Pevensie children die in a train crash in The Last Battle, and that's how they were transported to Narnia again, and from there went on to Heaven? And Susan hadn't just stopped believing in Narnia, she thought it silly and childish(like a LOT of adults when it comes to believing in God and the Bible).

I can almost hear Metallica's ...and Justice for All album playing in Melkors head throughout the Silmarillion. I imagine him playing 'To live is to die' on his BC Rich loudly drowning out Iluvators' trashy operetta in G Major. Man was he ahead of his time.

I have a few suggestions for you, but recommend that if you get into any of them, drop them if they feel too boring or offend. Finding series YOU like PERSONALLY is how you stick with anything, anime or otherwise. 1. Naruto 2. Neon Genesis Evangelion 3. Ghost in the Shell 4. Code Geass A last exception one: Vinland Saga. If you’re willing to go in understanding that it’s an entire first season of setup, it could be the best show you ever watched. But especially as you dislike certain stuff about anime, it may totally waste your time. But if you like Christian themes in a show that aren’t just for show, Vinland Saga can’t be beat. It just isn’t that for the first season.

It's pretty good, very satisfying. And Lewis is about as far as you can get from an evangelical since he's Anglican. Of course all the way away from evangelical is Catholic, but he didn't quite get there.

Interesting watching this… a good synopsis, certainly you hit the important plot points. I read the books about 40 years ago, and your synopsis rings true but yet I find myself unable to recall much of any details at all of the books. Compare with HHGTTG books, which I read at the same time frame, yet can quote many passages word for word, or, if you want high fantasy for comparison, Ivanhoe, which again I remember lots of details from. I think CS Lewis wasn’t a very good writer, his stories too simplistic, and he hits the reader over the head with his Christian moralizing. No interesting characters, no vivid descriptions of interactions, and nothing very memorable. Still, watching your video makes me think of the box set I have sitting on a shelf, I’m now tempted to read it again.

Such a great effort to condense the vastness of Middle-earth into just a few minutes! I’ve always been fascinated by how people approach The Silmarillion. It’s often labeled as 'difficult', but I find it to be incredibly rewarding and full of depth, once you get into it. There’s just something magical about the way Tolkien weaves such a rich history, even if it’s sometimes more complex than LOTR. Anyone else feel like The Silmarillion deserves more love for its epic storytelling? And thanks for breaking it down so concisely! ✨

You forgot to mention how 'Father Chrismas' gave Lucy both the healing potion and a dagger/knife. The knife is what Edmund would have gotten if he didn't betray the group. A dagger is a very obvious symbolism of backstabbing, which adds to Ed's parallel to Judas. I do love that he got redeemed in the end but also got a new gadget in the next adventure which was the ever so almighty ...flashlight. No dagger. Instead of (back)stabbing, he now uses the light of God to guide him and the group.
