5:30 In One Punch Man Saitama does have a sidekick that serves the function that you're hoping for. Maybe give it another shot.

Not sure how much you've seen since this upload but I recommend Parasyte The Maxim - sci fi thriller about aliens, Monster by Naoki Urasawa - Psychological Drama (kind of slow burner) , and/or if you can find it Frieren: Beyond Journey's End- Fantasy. Hope one of them sparks some interest 🙂

One show is recommended is neon genesis evangelion. It’s a mecha anime, that’s only 24 episodes long (plus a movie) Going into it blind is really the best way to watch it, so all I’m gonna say is that if you find the 1st half a little boring (I personally didn’t but I get why someone would), still keep watching it, it gets better during the 2nd half.

Although I don't know many specifics, that show looks super sad from the way people talk about it.

@@JPKloess yeah It does get pretty, for lack of a better word, surreal

I have a few suggestions for you, but recommend that if you get into any of them, drop them if they feel too boring or offend. Finding series YOU like PERSONALLY is how you stick with anything, anime or otherwise. 1. Naruto 2. Neon Genesis Evangelion 3. Ghost in the Shell 4. Code Geass A last exception one: Vinland Saga. If you’re willing to go in understanding that it’s an entire first season of setup, it could be the best show you ever watched. But especially as you dislike certain stuff about anime, it may totally waste your time. But if you like Christian themes in a show that aren’t just for show, Vinland Saga can’t be beat. It just isn’t that for the first season.

I can definetly see why those are your opinions! I'm happy you enjoyed Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood because it is my favorite anime. If you want to watch something else in the future I would recommend for you to finish Death Note and watch Castlevania (it's basically anime inspired artstyle and the plot is really good. It doesn't have any weirdness in the artstyle). Other animes I'd recommend to you are Tiger & Bunny (about superheroes, it's fun and serious at the same time, no weirdness of animation) and Moriarty The Patriot (it's the story of Sherlock Holmes's nemesis, very assertive and intricate plot, very little weirdness)

I definitely agree One Punch mocks more Anime tropes than Superhero per se. I love it but if you're not big into anime I definitely can understand the lack of intrigue. He does get a counterpart that is overly excitable but idk if it's enough for you to enjoy it.

I cant binge anything. Also, as i got older i can't really get into anything unless its a book.

Don't bother watching more of Death Note. Episode 7 is the high point and it's all down hill from there.

I've watched a bit more since then and yeah it's kinda not as exciting after that point

I really like demon slayer. Full metal alchemist is pretty top tier so it's a tough act to follow

also the channel paxtube is a catholic does anime, but be warned he does have very spicy takes and is blunt

Naruto is a pretty solid read in manga it has good ethics in terms of forgiving your enemies and the perpetual nature if evil repeating itself if forgiveness isn’t there. How it does have a handful amount of lewd shots but no where near anything popular nowadays.

I've since finished My Hero Academia (or what's animated so far) and enjoyed that. Naruto would be a maybe, but I'm not all that into Ninjas conceptually. I've never been a huge Japanophile.

You never watched Cowboy BePop

I did watch Cowboy BePop actually. That was part of an earlier attempt to like anime. I think I tried six episodes and didn't like the show.
