Commenting on a 7 y/o video, but that would be cool to use for lighting fireworks fuses from afar.

ThermalVatBand is the worst, they've been fucking me around for over a month. They've claimed to have shipped the item 4 times now, yet the tracking number has never been updated. Every time i reach out to ask what's up they give me same line... Anyway, will be trying out something like what you've done here. Nice video!

Hi, what material you used for sticking heaters to the vat?
@isaac879Ай бұрын
I used a "double sided thermal adhesive tape". If you search Amazon/Aliexpress for that loads should come up.

Very nice! Would an aluminum PCB work more efficiently as the heating unit?
@isaac879Ай бұрын
I don't think so. The heating element is on the bottom layer, right next to the vat so the thermal conductivity shouldn't really affect the performance. The aluminium PCBs would just be more expensive and make routing the traces more difficult as you only have one layer to work with.
@obitus1990Ай бұрын
Hi, and thank you for sharing this! What are your thoughts on making the actual heating elements as an aluminum PCB?
@isaac879Ай бұрын
I did consider making this an aluminium PCB but I don't think it would add any benefit. The heating element is on the bottom layer, right next to the vat so the thermal conductivity shouldn't really affect the performance. The aluminium PCBs would just be more expensive and make routing the traces more difficult as you only have one layer to work with.

Fast forward to the future: cell phones don't have headphone jacks anymore. Thsnkfully tho, you can install and setup octoprint 4a on any anroid phone in like 20mins, and you're set to go! (Note needs to be Usb C charge/otg plug in order to charge and connect at the same time.)

I developed a position control too! Yours looks very good!:) How did you implement the snapping. You can see in my video that I only control one position which can be changed over time. But that snapping with various positions is new to me…
@isaac8792 ай бұрын
Thanks! I basically just read the encoder position then set the target position to the closest snap position. The code for it is up on github: github.com/isaac879/SimpleFOC-Tests

Hi, sorry for the confusion. The xbox controller cpp files was only really meant for reference in case anyone wanted to try the same. I used Visual Studio to compile and run that code on my PC. Both the controller and camera slider were connected to the PC. The PC then took the controller inputs, converted them into the slider commands and sent them via the comport it was connected to.

@isaac879 What I want to do is make a remote-controlled body with feedback. You could gear its strength to superhuman levels too while having force feedback! Even cooler to train an ai for it un unreal engine with it working with motor feedback and having emergency stop procedures or overriding code preventing movement that causes the body to collide with itself or other stuff at all or at speed or with set strength or above!
