I do want to make another improved version soon! But I am also a little wary of making a proper tutorial as lasers are very dangerous and I don't really want people going around and blinding themselves/others...

isaac879. Well it’s up to you, but I think it would better if you taught them how to do it instead of them trying to figure it out themselves and hurting themselves. Besides you can just address it in the beginning of the video and maybe like add some safety features. Thank you! The danger with the laser gun is the risk of blinding yourself/someone or setting something on fire! Make sure you always use appropriate laser goggles and use it sensibly and it should be pretty safe.

nice project i have build one myself and it´s just working straight away. i only changed view lines in code because i use an arduino nano. there´s only one thing that i like to know what value have the potis? of course I could go through it by trail and error. or could use some resistors to kompensate it but it would be nice if i could use the correct ones. at the moment, i use some that i had lying around. 22k i think. thanks for sharing this project hope for an answer.

Sorry for the delay. You would have to manually test the values yourself. Different pots may have different values so I don't know what yours would be. I hope you manage to sort it out andare having fun with it - stay safe :)

If you know electricity, you can see how easy is to make, as it's pretty "simple" circuit. if you dont know electricity, would be impossible to explain how to make it.. but making it short, no one with two fingers of mind would show how to make something that can damage others at your only good/evil will.

Thank you! For my laser gun I just pulsed the laser at full power for a short time, so it wasn't actually any more powerful than the beam. It should be possible to overdrive most laser diodes to increase the power, however it depends on the laser diode in question. Overdriving the diode will probably reduce the lifespan as well. You will need to do some research into what kind of laser you are using and appropriate driver circuitry.

At 12V it draws a maximum of about 1.3A to power the laser module (laser diode, fan and driver circuitry).

Lasers this powerful can instantly and permanently damage your eyes even from reflections on non-reflective surfaces! So the laser goggles are to prevent me from blinding myself!

The laser is controlled by an ATtiny85 micro controller, so by setting the control pin high for 150ms it turns the laser on for that amount of time and looks like a pulse.

I don't fully understand what you are asking. Different lasers will have different control circuitry so may need to be controlled in different ways. My laser module has 3 pins, one for 12V power, one for the ground connection and the last is the PWM control signal. The ATtiny85 only controls the PWM signal, it cannot supply the power the laser needs to operate. I hope this answers your question or if not, could you clarify what you are asking?
