Shoes in the UK are so expensive. However, there’s a popular second hand clothing app that has lots of Vans skate shoes being sold by non-skaters. The shoes are generally in great condition, sometimes only worn a few times. Many listings are selling for 1/3 the original price. I always give low ball offers and have managed to get some great deals. I haven’t had much luck with other brands. Vans seem to be the most popular for non-skaters. The chequered flag makes it easier to spot the skate versions of the shoes too.

Great video! I’ve tried most of the skate brands out there. But for the most part it’s Nike, because of how durable Nike SBs are. Especially Blazers & Dunks. I’m still skating my wheat dunks since February 😂

If you use shoe goo make sure you put the tube in a ziplock bag after opening it. The caps suck and aren’t airtight. The tube gets too dried out after a while

It’s tougher to do it you aren’t old like me but I always use shoe goo on my dominant foot prior to skating, then tear it off after the session. Reapply and repeat prior to the next one and the outside of your shoes will hold up longer than the padding in the sole. This way your shoes aren’t completely destroyed before they actually wear out.

I'm going to give you young guys the secret to making shoes last. Lets say you have a dunk or és eccel with the toe cap. Skate the shoe once or twice depending on how many flip tricks you do and kind of break the shoe in. As soon as the stitching rips on the toecap or ollie area, get a razor and CUT All the rest of the stitching in the area you skate basically the whole toe cap. Then put shoegoo behind the panel and glue the toe cap back on. If the shoe is broken in and you even put your foot in the shoe when pressing it on it will be perfectly molded to your foot and how your kickflip toe is. I feel like the flick is more consistent and the shoe will last way longer cause it isn't just peeling apart

Nice video, I'm almost always at the other Richmond skate park. The Superstar ADVs are durable as fk with the best flick I've found in a while, though I don't find them very comfortable. Managed to find them on sale for 40% off when they were already marked down (was the last pair the store had), so it was a huge steal. I'm like you - I never buy shoes full price, and just get them where I can for cheap when I can - so I'd love another pair! Great skating, man... hope to see ya around! 🤟

these are good trucks. They turn and grind really good. But they are no good for nose and tailslides which I haven't really see you do in this video. The baseplate is just so short at the nose and tail end that it makes you stick with your wheel. I rather skate venture for that reason and they are very similar to thunders.

yo i got back into skating at 26 this year, had a couple injuries but still going. having bills definitely stops me from doing crazier stuff but it gives you time to really dial in the fundamentals. my two major ones so far (torn ankle ligament+sprained foot and bruised fibula) were because i was skating above my ability. as long as you skate within your ability, be mindful of the hazards of whatever trick you're trying, and learn how to fall then you're gonna be good man. and always remember to have fun
@fireflameft2964
@fireflameft2964 2 күн бұрын
@@bloodhoundsoldier7445 yeah for sure but to learn tricks you have to try doing things above your ability. If I'm 100% honest and rational I shouldn't do it and just try swimming instead or something like lmao. I skated one time so far and it was fun, I have some previous experience so atleast I know how to push and falling doesn't seem as easy as I was expecting but I can see the danger in one bad lapse of judgment or slip up.
